If Ray Lewis is hurt and done... Does Bart Scott get the Middle (1 Viewer)

ESPN reports Ray Lewis suffered a torn triceps in Monday night's game.

Lewis played through the injury Monday night, but there seems to be a good chance that we won't see him again this year if the report is true.

no he has been in there, just hasnt had many opportunities.
:) Yes he played the whole game with a torn tricep. I think the point is this may be the last we see of him and who will replace him.

Good question. I have Bart Scott and wasn't too impressed last night. Yes I know it's only week 1 but I remember him flying around last year like Ray. Does the loss of AD. Thomas hurt Scott? I have P. Willis and after his performance last night I would like to get him some PT.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Ray Lewis told reporters that he suffered a torn triceps Monday night. However, the newspaper also quotes a team spokesperson who denies that Lewis' injury is a torn triceps, saying that the Ravens wouldn't have sent him back into the game if that was the case. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday. It looked to me last night that Cinny was sending Rudi right at Ray to break him some more... which was a very smart move since they knew has was a wounded animal. Scott made very little action come his way.

I was answering his question on where Scott was at. He originally posted asking where he was at. Then when he got that answer from me, he edited his post to discuss ray's injury. Notice the edit.

ohh... his reply is from last night when I asked "where the Hell is Scott tonight... :goodposting:

I would not be too worried about Bart Scott. They had him playing bump on the WR's and in coverage on the outside a lot. I don't expect this to be the norm.

Anyone got the word on Ray
Bump for inj update
wheres the update... hes just one of the most important LBs in the league.... wasn't an MRI done yesterday
There's no new news yet. The team doesn't have to release any information about medical tests.Lewis didn't practice today according to Mike Preston. Dennis Haley, the listed backup MLB, practiced with the first team. There may be something if Billick talks after practice.

Jene, assuming for a moment that Ray will miss significant time, what are your thoughts on Dennis Haley? Is he worth having just as the starting MLB? Will they slide someone else inside or pass him the reins?

When Lewis missed time with the hematoma deal last year, Haley saw time in one game after second string (at the time) Mike Smith left with an injury. He had a decent game (4-5-0 with a QB hit and two passes defended) but isn't anything special. Both Dawan Landry and Bart Scott out-tackled him. There's nobody out there waiting for a call that will have a major impact here -- Trotter may have been interesting -- so I think they'll likely stick with what they have if Lewis is out for an extended period. I'm of the opinion that he'll tape it up and go given his in-game and post-game comments, but Haley should be picked up if Lewis doesn't go.Scott and Landry get bumps, though. Probably either way as Lewis is going to have difficulty extending his arms to shed blocks and wrap up outside his body.

Anybody else think that the tricep tear comment is just b.s. to add to his own ego.

How can you judge a tricep tear, for real without an MRI.

Now all you are reading is "Wow, what a warrior Ray is, he played with a tricep tear."

If it was a full tear, the tricep muscle would have rolled up his arm and there would have been a noticeable lump where it was. You can't wrap it up and go play, no matter who you are. I'd be shocked if it was a full tear, considering he had a monster game after that too.
