If Dorsey is the guy they want, and they miss out on him, settling for a QB doesn't make sense to me. If they want Dorsey, it seems to me that they aren't sold on Ryan as a franchise QB.
I mean, these teams have a plan going into the draft. If you believe that the Falcons want Dorsey, one has to assume they are comfortable with their current QB situation, or have plans to make a move later in the draft at QB.
So if the guy they want isn't there, it seems to me that taking a QB at #3 changes the entire face of the franchise. Taking a QB there, they are saying that Ryan is the guy they wanted all along.
I suppose it is possible they have Dorsey and Ryan ranked closely, but wouldn't you assume the franchise QB would trump the need at DT?
I think this isn't being thought out very well by the TV pundits, and wouldn't be surprised if this is the spot where we get our first curveball, Long, Ellis, whoever.
Falcons fans, is Ryan really the consolation prize if Dorsey is gone?
