If the NFL could have a Roger Clemens, who would you want it to be?Imagine any kind of a scandal that could tear apart a man's legacy as thoroughly as Roger Clemens' has been torn apart over the past couple of months. We don't have to operate under the questionable assumption that steroid accusations would have as big of an effect on NFL players as they have on MLB players. It could be any kind of a scandal; anything that would be national news and do irreparable damage to a man's reputation. To whom in the NFL would you like to see that happen? Who would you like to see become the NFL's version of Roger Clemens?
I think I already know how this is gonna go down...but it'll be a fun exercise nonetheless.

I voted for the person whom I think actually has cheated, and should have his legacy torn apart because of it.

I'm not surprised how this is turning out, but when I read the question, the only name that comes to my mind because of how he's perceived and how Clemens was before, is Favre.

It just seems like a silly exercise because it presumes that the vast majority of NFL athletes aren't on PES; which I don't buy for a second.

Really only older guys doing extradinary, borderline groudbreaking things are eligible for this, so the real analogy obvious analogy would be Farve. Clemens isn't castigated for juicing in his peak, its the extending of his career and legacy(ditto for Bonds for that matter). You could also probably lump in Vrabels and your Bruschis in this one too.

If I had to see one player in the league go down though, Rod Bironas.

After that, Merriman.

I chose Other, Michael Vick. I'd feel a lot better knowing that he'd squandered drug given talent than God given talent.

Eli. That whole draft day thing about refusing to be in San Diego and his father pleading was quite pathetic.

Oh and yeah, that play too. :pickle:

I see still no votes for Romo. Probably just because for something like this to happen to him that would mean he'd actually accomplish something at some point. Not sure why he's even on this list.

What if I don't want any kind of scandal? What if I don't get off on seeing other people brought down? It's bad enough people are flawed and do things like Bonds, Clemens, Bellichick, etc. have done - but to hope it happens to somebody else too? I find that a pretty disturbing sentiment.

That has been my thought as well.

I'd say the large majority of voting would indicate people think there are scandalous things going on already and they'd just like to see people not get away with it. :lmao:

Leanord Little

Albert Haynesworth

Jeremy Stevens

Adam Jones

I'm leaving out a bunch scumbags. And I'm probably not getting the spirit of this thread.

Too bad Albert Haynesworth is not a scumbag.Im not condoning what he did to Gurode (he has apologized...paid the price...and actually made friends with Gurode at the pro-bowl this week). But he is far from a scumbag.

I vote for none. While there are some idiots out there, there are no players I wish to have their lifetime of past/future work torn apart by scandal.

I voted "other" so that I could say "none"

I think it's f'ing ######ed that people are so jealous that they would love to see another man taken down.

I hate that clemens is putting up with this hypocritical BS, I hate that Bonds has to put up with it, I hated it when people screamed "cheater" about Shawne Merriman last season, and I think it's ######ed that people are jealous of some successful QB and want to see him taken down.

No, I don't like the Patriots and I personally think Brady is a ####, but this whole scandal BS stinks. This reminds me of people who said "I want Brady to get his leg broken because NE keeps throwing the ball in the 4th quarter"

Well Kumba-f-ing-ya. Let's all go hug a tree. Ya' know what? Not all hate is jealously-ridden. Not everyone who expresses a distaste for another human being secretly wishes they had their talent, fame or fortune. Some people's actions (Leonard Little, Jerramy Stevens) are so disgustingly out of bounds that if you cannot lather up a healthy spite for them then I feel sorry for you. I'm not talking about the Randy Moss' here - people whose personalities rub you the wrong way. Take your "other" vote over to that family whose loved one got mowed down by Leonard Little for no good reason other than one pointless - selfish decision. And then did it again.

:goodposting: Some individuals have made themselves subject to ridicule and contempt. Those mentioned don't deserve what they have and have not gotten what they deserve.

I know an expert in the area of performance enhancing drugs usage and he has done many off the record interviews. He has told me that every single player in the NFL takes steroids. When pressed he admitted that maybe a few backups who don't play anymore have gone off them.
