Ignore Pitching? (1 Viewer)

13 team mixed league - points based (not traditional roto).

Had a perfect VBD thing going and psotion palyers were falling into my lap. Unfortunately turns out the scoring is pitcher friendly and I didn't take that into account -

with 8 picks left in the draft I am sitting with -

Brett Myers

Jered Weaver

Rich Harden (gulp)

Ubaldo Jimenez

Anthony Reyes

Jake Westbrook

Chris Capuano

I still need 3 pitchers to even field a legal lineup and the last 3 listed were my last 3 picks (my offense is squared away).

Easily the worst rotation I have ever fielded. Do I take some setup guys to avoid the crap left amongst the starters? Go to a closer in wating - all closer are long gone but I could get a Kerry Wood type. Do I roll the dice on a starter like Franklin Morales (or any one of the unproven younger pitchers in their first 3 years)?

what's your scoring? do you get anything for saves?

Pick up pitchers with high upside potential and then keep a very close eye on the waiver wire for pickups every week.

I agree with this. Its probably worth a stab at Johnny Cueto. He is a very big prospect for the Reds who was expected to start still in AAA, but has blown out the rotation competition in spring training and seems to now have an inside track on a spot. If he makes the team, he could be a great steal. If not, he'll be easy to cast aside for someone off the WW.Can you give us a short list of what pitchers are available?
