Not a bad call with Walter, but this may be the weakest secondary Baltimore has fielded yet. The biggest concern with Chad is his routes are usually deeper or double-move, which takes time. Baltimore should be able to get to Palmer before Chad's routes develop but I doubt they lock him down.

I dont have him but if I did I would play him. I dont think many teams have 3 WRs on the roster that will out perform Chad OchoCinco this week.

now if you in a 2 WR league with 8 teams then maybe.

I'm playing him, I could use Santana Moss but I feel confident that Ocho Cinco can findn the end zone atleast once against the Ravens.

Not that I'm a fan, (actually I hate them) but I think USC deserves a bit of that claim. Two national championships, three Heisman trophies. And I'm betting they have ended up with a higher annual ranking year after year during the decade. They are #1 in my book, with Florida 1A. LSU is a distant third, IMO.
Not a good history? No idea what you mean by that, but he kills them.15 games 1157 yards, 7 TDs. He has more yards against the Ravens than any other team in his career.

Calvin JohnsonSteve Smith (Car)Mike Sims-Walker12 teamer start 3. I really want to start him considering he has a TD celebration planned, but those other three are simply dominating their team's WR targets.

With the exception of last year, when I think we all agree that Ocho wasn't the same player as previous years or what he looks like so far this year, he's actually had a pretty successful history against the Ravens.

I'm not a big proponent of using past history against a particular team from previous years as an indicator of how they'll do in a given current match-up. Or at least not as a major reason for choosing whether or not to start some one. Based on the data from the last 5 years (shown below), if one was to take an average, it would have come out to 5.4 catches for 79.6 yards and 0.4 TD's which would seem to me to be a pretty positive average against arguably the best defense over that 5 year span.

I don't contest the fact that Walter may be a better start this week as he has a very week pass defense against him, but I guess I question the logic used to make the decision.

08/09

1 for 22

4 for 45

07/08

5 for 95 1 TD

10 for 161 2 TD

I have Boldin, Steve Smith (NYG), and Hines Ward in right now with Ocho on the bench. If Eli is definitely out, I'll put Ocho in for Smith.

You're going to start Steve Smith (Car) instead of Ocho...that's bold at this point...not saying your wrong because anything can happen, but he and Delhomme are just not clicking right now.

Same thread as last week with the Steelers. I don't think you sit him unless you have 2 other top 10 WRs to start over him. (Currently #9 in my PPR league in points and 12 in average ppg).

It's all good man. Discussion is what makes this place great.I'm expecting Carolina to come out and look more like the 2008 Panthers. They're coming off their bye, at home, against a Washington team that has been scuffling a bit as well.I see the Panthers' running game getting on track and Delhomme hitting a couple big play action pass plays to Steve Smith. Add in the quick hitches and slants that were working in the first half against Dallas and I think he will put up a big game. Even if Delhomme only throws 25-30 times at least 10-12 of those targets will be to SS. The 8 catches for 131 he had against Atlanta is more the norm historically between Delhomme and Smith than weeks 1 and 3. I don't want to bench Chad, but I can only play three of those guys. MSW is on fire and Calvin is Calvin. I've been agonizing all week over who to plug in there. I guess it's a good problem to have.

I'm starting OCHO this week, but don't have much choice :goodposting: Ocho = my #1 WR, but it's been working out pretty well for me so far this year, I'm 4-0 through 4 weeks...and Ocho is #6 in WR scoring in my league.

Does anyone have stats on how often Chad scores when he announces before the game he'll have a special end zone celebration when he scores? He scored in GB when he planned the leap. This week he said he'll do a Ricky Bobby tribute. I have to think he'll score.

LOL at all of the guys who jump through Chad's hoops and call him Ocho Cinco.
It's his legal name now and what he does for the community and on the field fun, I'll call him what he wants.

I'm starting Santonio Holmes over him. I checked his history against the Ravens and while he has been hot lately, it's not one of the best matchups. Holmes has been cold but facing the Lions I'm hoping he can break out of the funk. Especially playing on turf. I hate to bench a WR who is on a hot streak but I guess I'm not the only one?

:lmao: You go right ahead.
This cracks me up. People all taking his "legal" name seriously. It's not like this is Cassius Clay-->Muhammad Ali.
:goodposting: It is his legal name. The NFL recognizes it. Why shouldn't we?

No one's stopping you. Just understand why most of us laugh about it. He renamed himself as his football number. He's a clown. I happen to kinda like him. He's an attention whore, but he does it in a humorous way, unlike the TO"s of the world. If he renamed himself Chad Kuttasabutthead, would you call him that? Because he really could change his name to that. It wasn't a religeous thing, just a look-at-me deal. I'll pass.

:goodposting: The stats im looking at have it as 16 games 1157 yards 7 TDs, which is 72.3 yrd and about .5td a game. Add that with the obvious decrease in pass defense for the ravens this year, and I dont know why you would sit the guy?

That would be AWESOME!! Hell yes I'd call him that.

:lmao: if you think Muhammad Ali changed his name for religious reasons. :lmao: :lmao: for implying that Ali was not an attention whore compared to Ocho. Ali wrote the book on being an attention whore.Ocho has earned my respect, as did Ali (no I am not saying Ocho = Ali), and I will acknowledge that by calling him by his legal name as I do for Ali.

Can you imagine if Ali had access to Twitter in his twenties and early thirties? He would have single handedly crashed the entire internet.

when I opened this thread I had Ocho sitting for both Steve Smiths and Ray Rice in the flex, now you guys got me wanting to play him. I gotta figure out who to sit to make room for Chad. 12 hours and 45 min to figure it out. Ugh.

FWIW I had to choose two players from Rice, Coffee and Ocho (already starting Moss, Andre Johnson, Knowshon & Mendenhall).Going with Rice & Ocho.HTH

Thanks, but I wasn't trying to make it an AC type post. If Eli sits my decision will be easy, but I'm still not sure what I'm going to do yet.

I do have a few options but I'm rolling with Ochocinco this week.

in one league I'm starting Ochocinco and Sims-Walker over Steve Smith (Car) and Braylon Edwards

In my other league I'm starting Ochocinco, Calvin Johnson, and Cotchery over Edwards, Holmes, and Mohamed Massaquoi

:moneybag: This hobby is really frustrating sometimes.Ocho doesn't leave the lineup again.

Ouch. That's a tough one.
