In first place in a H2H 6 x 6 (Holds is extra pitching).
My hitting is fine, but Lilly and Bedard were the back anchors of my squad.
Right now I have Johan Santana, Justin Verlander, Joba Chamberlain and Josh Johnson as viable starters...
Right now I'm also carry Gaudin and Maholm, and I have 2 open slots with Lilly and Bedard going to the DL
This week, I streamed 11 different pitchers and still lost wins and k's.
We have a free agent acquisition limit of 50 and I am at 28, so streaming from here on out is not an option.,
That leaves 4 gaping holes on my team for SPs. (I have 3 holds guys and 2 closers in my 5 RP slots).
I don't ever carry bench hitters because they always hit 7 homers in one game when they are on my bench, but I really need a strategy here...here's what I'm considering.
A. Pick up 2 RP's with SP eligibility that get holds (Sean Marshall and Chan Ho Park most likely), grab a back up hitter (probly Lugo or someone close) and keep one spot open for streaming.
B. Deal Johan, Verlander or Josh Johnson for 2 - lesser SPs. I.e. Johan for Ubaldo and Danks or something of the sort.
I dunno, I'm lost - I've dropped 2 weeks in a row now with bloated ERAs both times. Any creedence to just dropping the dead weight SP's and winning ERA and WHIP every week? Almost every team in my league doesn't carry bench hitters, so I'm practically conceding K's and Wins every week by doing this.
Pretty much at a loss, waiver wire is picked clean.
I'd like to add Chris TIllman on Wednesday by I have low waiver priority and I guarantee Yahoo will blow him up before his start.
Any thoughts?
