In a 6pt/TD QB league.... (1 Viewer)

If you use value based drafting, plug in 4 and 6 into passing tds and see how it affects it.

League 1 (ppr):  QB1 is ranked 30th, behind RB8, WR20, TE1.  QB4 is 69th. QB10 is 116th.    Difference between QB5 and QB16 is < 2ppg

League 2 (TE 2ppr, rec yds):  QB1 is ranked 33rd, behind RB13, WR14, TE5.  QB4 is 61st.  QB10 is 125th.  Difference between QB5 and QB17 is < 2ppg.

For those that feel the top QBs should be taken in the first two rounds in 6 point TD leagues, how much would you spend on them in an auction?  If you think they should be going that early then you should be willing to spend over $60 for them in $200 auctions.

IMO the impact of 4 vs 6 for pass TD is minimal because it does not address the issue of scarcity. QBs will still perform very similarly in relation to each other (Cam a little less valuable, Brady, Ryan a little more valuable) and it shouldn't impact their relationship to other positions by any significant margin because you will still be able to find the adequate to solid QB in the mid rounds allowing you to target RBs/WRs/TEs or whatever in the same fashion you would in a 4 pt/TD draft.

as i was replying here, this is the conclusion I came to. the fact that QB's score a lot in this scoring system doesn't change the fact all the other QB's adjust in the same way and that relativity of stats and scoring is the core of draft strategy. :goodposting:

If anyone does think a QB is worth taking very early in the first round then they should reconsider and take Gronk there instead because he offers an even bigger advantage over players at his position than any QB does.

No, because a "good fg kicker" doesn't kick more fg's.  A good qb throws more touchdowns.

So you're saying if tds were 100 points each, arod wouldn't be the first player off the board no matter what?
I don't know what you're trying to argue, you said yourself that this scoring change would barely move the top QB in the second.

We can make up all sorts of cast scenarios to push a QB or any position to the 1.01 pick, but we weren't discussing that we were talking about 4 versus 6 pass tds.

Exactly and yes it does slightly change strategy from 4 to 6.
