In Chester We Trust? (1 Viewer)

For anyone still in contention with Chester - do you feel confident this week? After the egg MIN / Chester laid down I sure as hell don't.

Thoughts?

<----- Still in contention despite of Chester's egg this weekend

<----- Probably starting Jones-Drew or McGahee instead

I am really torn about starting him, he nearly cost me last week. I wanted to replace him with Edge, but subscribed to the "dance w/ the one who brought you" theory. I am leaning towards sitting Chester again, there is a big risk that the Vikes just tank & he ends up w/ 30-40 yards.

The reason Chester put up a few stinkers this year are:

a) Brad Johnson was inept, team couldnt move the ball- this happened a few weeks

b) numerous false start & holding penalties on 1st down force passing situations- see last week.

I am not sure that T Jackson at QB will make things any better. Obviously, they will try to run more. But what will keep GB from putting 9 in the box?

I actually think Chester is going to have a strong game. The Thursday night games have all been sloppy, due to the lack of time for recovery and preparation, and this poor execution has benefitted the RB's the last two weeks. Willie Parker and Frank Gore have carried their teams to victory in the last two weeks. I feel that Chester, if healthy, will continue that trend against the porous GB run D.

I am debating using Ron Dayne vs. that Colts run D instead of Chester.

Ron Dayne starting in a FF Super Bowl... WTF?

When my options are Chester or Leon Washington/Arlen Harris, I'll go with Chester this week. He is playing, right?

This is all I could find..• Defensive tackle Spencer Johnson had a walking boot on his left leg and was using crutches Monday after an MRI showed he suffered a high ankle sprain Sunday. Johnson found out he had no damage to his medial collateral ligament. Running back Chester Taylor, meanwhile, said his bruised ribs felt fine after he carried the ball only 11 times. Taylor jammed his wrist during the game but described it as "nothing."

I thik i am going to go Taylor over Justin Griffin or Artose Pinner. I don't mine sinking with my studs, but I would have a hard time losing and finding out Chestor Taylor scored 25+, and I started some flavor of the week.

I have the dilema of Chester or Sammy Morris vs. NY Jets. Sammy has been alright and has outscored Chester the past two weeks since Ronnie Brown has been out but a healthy Chester is always better than the Miami back-up forced into duty. The problem is I better make up my mind and fast because Thursday comes quickly and I better be confident by that time.

My options for my #2 Rb

Chester, Addai, Michael Turner, Leon Washington

With Addai likely out probably gonna role w/ Chester-wish he had full week to heal though

Believe it or not, I am still in contention with Roy Williams and Chester Taylor in my lineup last week. :topcat: I am subbing out Williams for Torry Holt and so far still have Chester in my lineup. I'm a little leery about Chester, but this is my take... Chester did fairly well when given the opportunity last week. He was getting 3, 4, 5, yard gains, but the Vikings could not convert on 3rd downs, which thus ends the drive. Any drive ended is fewer yards for Taylor. When the Vikes got behind they passed and when they pass, they put in their 3rd down back (M. Moore). Chester likely is fine, but he needs the team to be successfull for him to be successful. The last time the Vikes played GB (back in Nov). The Vikes had only 4 rushing first downs vs. 9 passing first downs. Chester had 20 carries for 75 yards with a long of 11 yards. Take away that 11-yd gain and he avg'd 2.9 ypc. What I like about this game for Chester...1. It's on Natl TV (thurs night)2. Tavaris Jackson looked good in a passing situation last week. He moved the ball - this is good news, because moving the ball means more opptntys for Chester. 3. GB has allowed 382 yd rushing in last 3 games. (127.3 pg)
