In this thread, list the players we all RAN to pick up... (1 Viewer)

It is humbling to admit this, but I picked up and loved Quentin Griffin. The game where he hop skipped sideways, juked and ducked and ran and scored. I knew he was going to win the league for me.

True story. The year he entered camp as Denver's # 1 RB (in 2004), the guy who is the doormat in our league year after year selected him with the # 4 overall pick! Took everyone about ten minutes to pick our collective jaws off the floor. In the first game of the season, Griffin had good yardage and scored twice. The owner felt vindicated. Soon after, he lost his starting job and never found the end zone the rest of the season. The past three years, every time this owner is on the clock in round one, we tell him that Quentin Griffin is still available.

haha i love it.

Just off the top of my head:

Jacoby Jones (got him on WW and dropped him soon after)

David Boston (didn't waste my time on this punk)

Selvin Young (got him on WW, packaged him quickly in a trade to Henry owner, IMHO he's worthless...especially since he got stiff armed by Rogers)

Any GB RB not named Ryan Grant (he's pretty much trash too IMHO)

Any DET RB not named Kevin Jones

Any HOU RB period..can't rely on any of them including Dayne

The crystal ball says Priest Holmes is a waste of time...

Pittman from KC once traded to TB-he's been garbage thus far

Anybody that CBSSportsline.com recommends you to pick up is automatic garbage

Haha thanks I get all that trash confused!

Tony Fisher a couple years back was THE hot fantasy pickup one week and didn't do d*ck the rest of the season. Noah Herron on GB, too. I recall ReShard Lee being a hot commodity one week.....yikes.

2004

Kevan Barlow

Lee Suggs

Travis Minor

Tony Hollings

All saw time on my team at 1 point or another.

Michael Clayton in his sophmore year, after his rookie year looked like a stud for years to come

Last year, Leon Washington

2 years ago, Koren Robinson

Both after they played the Lions. Should've known better.

After Greg Jones got hurt last year, everyone ran to pick up Toefield (believing Fred Taylor would inevitably end up as the backup).

Selvin Young- nothing but a mess in Denver and now I have a WW request to get Darrelle Revis and here comes reports that Travis Henry is hurt again. I am getting out of that mess soon!

Tyrone Calico

About three/four years ago, in our weekly waivers, he was available (keeper league), so I grabbed him. The guy taken after him was some smallish WR who had his first big game. His name: Steve Smith.

Wali Lundy last season. Twice.

Also passed on some guy named Jones-Drew to pickup Alexander's worthless backup last year too.
