The aliens didn't nuke any cities, they used their energy weapon to destroy the ones you noted. We tried a nuke in Houston.

ID4 was great because of how it never took itself seriously. The trailer makes it look too dark and serious. If it doesnt have something completely off the wall like Randy Quaid as a drunk redneck flying an f-16 into an alien weapon while giving a classic "Alien #######" line, it wont work.

This looks like a classic summer doomsday blockbuster. Corny dialog, plot holes a mile wide, impossible odds a few unlikely heroes will overcome and all kinds of stuff blowing up. Of course I'm in.
