Indianapolis Colts Team Defense (1 Viewer)

The Colts defensive unit is currently ranked 21st overall in our league. I know defensive scoring can vary greatly from league to league, but I would imagine they are available in many leagues. I think if you do not own an elite defense or if your current unit has a rough fantasy playoff schedule you might want to take a look.

The biggest thing I have noticed is the dramatic difference so far in how well the Colts DST have played at home. Combine that with the fact that they finish the regular season with 4 of their next 6 games at home.

So far this year at home they have allowed an average of 14 points a game.

vs Giants - 14 points allowed - 1 INT - 3 FF - 4 Sacks - 1 TD

vs Chiefs - 9 points allowed - 1 FF - 1 Sack

vs Texans - 17 points allowed - 1 INT - 2 FF - 3 Sacks - 1 TD

vs Bengals - 17 points allowed - 3 INT - 2 FF - 3 Sacks - 1 TD

Even without the touchdowns those should be above average stats in most fantasy leagues.

From here on out they will face...

Week 12 - Chargers

Week 13 - Cowboys

Week 14 - at Titans

Week 15 - Jaguars

Week 16 - at Raiders

Week 17 - Titans

I know the match-ups are not exactly ideal, but if the Colts had success defensively against the Giants and Texans I would not rule anything out. The current QB/team situation in Tennessee obviously becomes a part of this as well. It is hard telling what kind of team Oakland will be in week 16, but they are not a team built to get into a shoot out and the Colts could certainly but them in that scenario. Also, I am not sure how much I subscribe to the turf vs grass preference for teams, but I would assume if any defense is "built" to play on turf it would be Indy and all but one of their road games have been grass.

More than anything I just think this is a unit that, this year and in recent years, has played very well at home; and they are going to be there a lot as we finish the regular season. They are probably available in your league if you need a good option to finish the season.

I have my eye on them. Plan on grabbing them for their game at home vs. Dallas next week. They have scored well every home game this year in my league's scoring system. Week 15 they play Jax at home and I like that matchup too. So, depending on what options are out there, I think they are a viable option down the stretch and are being overlooked.
