Indy kicker situation? (1 Viewer)

per kffl:

Oct 4 Indianapolis Colts PK Adam Vinatieri (groin) practiced Wednesday, Oct. 4, and is expected to play Week 5.

All signs point to place-kicker Adam Vinatieri being back at work Sunday in the RCA Dome when the Indianapolis Colts entertain AFC South rival Tennessee. Vinatieri expressed optimism he'll be ready. He has missed the past two games with a groin injury. "We'll see how it is today,'' Vinatieri said prior to Wednesday's practice. "When you've got a little something going on, it takes a little while. Your body heals at its own pace. I think we should be ready to go this week.'' the Colts waived veteran kicker Martin Gramatica to make room on the 53-man active roster for tight end Jerome Collins. If Vinatieri suffers a setback before Sunday, Gramatica will be re-signed.

I think he will play. The question is, WHY??? Why not let him rest another week against the hapless Titans?

They really dont need him and they have a bye week six. After seeing MG screw up the play on the kickoff run back i knew he would be gone. If not for that play he would kick this week.

....and the sad part is that was the only kickoff he kicked past the goal line, but the SOB did get in the way of a sure tackle on that kickoff.

To be perfectly honest. I am glad they ran the kickoff back! I feel much more comfortable knowing the ball is in peyton's hands with 2 minutes left than relying on the defense to make a stop with 2 minutes left!Just me tho.

edit: Never mind....I see Mike Herman already posted the same link earlier

Doesn't look like it will be Gramatica....

The past two games are the first Vinatieri has missed during his 11-year career.

"Nobody wants to be on the sideline watching your team play,'' he said.

:hot:he was supposed to kick last week too... all the way up until game time. :hot: :hot: :hot:
I thought he was questionable all the way up to gameday?? I saw that and kept the back up I had from him not starting the week before. Gould was solid again, so good in fact that I am thinking of trading Viniteri after the bye weeks.
