Insight on Tashard Choice anyone (1 Viewer)

I'm in a 32 team dynasty league. Standard scoring. I just did a trade and got Tashard Choice and gave up Ray Rice. I only did this because Derek Andersen and Brady Quinn were my QB's And I wanted to have 1 solid QB. SO I got Flacco. Which I think has huge value in a dynasty league.

So I think T. Choice has a lot of upside in dynasty league.

But my question to anyone who knows. I don't see him ovetaking Barber or Felix. (When they are healthy) So any chance Tashard gets traded in the offseason and his value goes sky high?

I'm just hoping. Anyone with insight on the Dallas backfield chime in.

I think Dallas is learning how important it is to have three above average running backs. I don't see Choice going anywhere.

In such a big league, Rice for Flacco and Choice is a good trade for you.

The Browns QBs are horrendous. I don't think Choice will go anywhere, actually I think Choice

is the one to won in Dallas, dynasty-wise. Your patience will be rewarded.

What are the chances they cut Barber in the off-season and go with Choice/Jones? I don't know what the cap hit would be for cutting Barber.

do not see why they would cut barber, it would make more sense to trade him and get something of need but i do not see that eitheri traded a 1st round pick in 2010 for Choice, I am a barber owner

I'm just curiuos if anyone see's Choice having any value this year or next at all? Thanks for your input (The Comedian)

Let's all start a thread about a guy we own in a dynasty league and post how we're hoping he gets traded.
With all due respect, not every player owned in dynasty is part of a very crowded (and talented) backfield. A general discussion of where Dallas goes from here (RB wise) is a reasonable one, in my opinion. The formula of having three above average talent RBs sounds like a good situation but I'm betting sleep is still being lost over it. Having two that can stay on the field is a formula that can work as well...

Choice isn't going anywhere. If any of the 3 get traded it will be Barber.

Barber has already peeked while Choice hasn't.

And we didnt, Switz?
Wasn't replying specifically to your post, rather that this has been a given for a while.
I agree with you that its been more or less a given for awhile. Or I should say its been seemingly obvious to those who follow the Cowboys fairly closely that Barber would be the likely one to be traded.
Agreed-once the cap hit is a little less. Right now it's a little steep. His contract starts to increase pretty large from what I recall. I don't think Barber will be Cowboy in to start the 2011 year. Choice is good, young and cheap-someone would have to waaay overpay to get him.

So, if we were to assume Barber will be traded what would the Cowboys look for in return? I would think a stud WR rather than draft picks.

(What did he "peek" at, and what did he see?)I agree. Choice has proven extremely valuable to the Cowboys. I don't see the Cowboys trading him. Barber is the most likely of the 3 to be sent packing, but I am not sure that will even happen. What is his trade value? What are the cap implications of keeping all 3? What is the contract status of each head of this three-headed monster in Dallas?I have a sneaking suspicion we will be revisiting this issue again next season.

I know Choice is in the second year of a four year deal while Barber and Jones have several years left on their respective deals. My guess is that the Cowboys hold. They seem to need all three backs and have benefited from having three last year and this year.

Jones is either not tough or injury prone. They've got two backs and a third part time player. They need to acquire at least(prob 2 or 3 with no depth) one quality tackle and it'd be wise to trade a RB for a T but that almost never happens in NFL world. After watching his buddy this past weekend suddenly run with authority and decisiveness, it reminded me just how awesome Barber is when he does. At that point, he's far better than Choice. When he's not, Choice is far better and....well this is one pain in the neck.

IMO no one is going anywhere. First off, if they move anyone it will be Barber and he's got a very high price tag and he's been hurt two consecutive years so there's a real injury risk there. Also, trades for RBs are fairly rare and if you move him you aren't going to get a lot for him.

This year proves why you need 3 RBs and unless they can something spectacular (which they won't) it doesn't make sense to make a move. Everyone is thinking with their FF hats and not their NFL hats. It's not happening.

if/when Barber/Jones are healthy, is Choice still going to be 3rd down back? From a couple articles I've read that seems to be the case and was wondering if there were differing opinions....

That may very well be, but that doesn't mean that Choice will be "limited" to only 3rd down looks and touches.

They move Barber in 2011, and ride Choice/Jones.

Jones plays his usual 5-6 games, gets hurt, and Choice is the bell-cow with some other drafted RB to spell him to keep him fresh.

INteresting takes on Choice. So from what I see. He only has value because last year and this year either Jones or Barber seems to be hurt.

Kind of stinks because choice does well on the ground and in the passing game.

Watch the huge holes any of the backs have. Dallas has a large and effective offensive line making for RB heaven. I still contend Jerry would trade Choice for good value in return and is showcasing him this season. Barber will be too old to trade when his contract is up and he has already reached the salary plateau that would not make him attractive to other teams at present. Much to the 'Boys homers dismay, they may be stuck with Marion who they used to love, but now are enamored with new blood in the form of Felix and Tashard. It's a pattern in Dallas dating back even before Julius Jones was excommunicated.

The only reason I am curious on T. Choice going forward is because I traded Ray Rice and got Tashard in return. I had to do this to get Joe Flacco and get rid of Brady Quinn and D. Andersen. I'm in a dynasty league.

Nothing stopping us from cutting or trading him when the contract makes sense to get rid of. 2 years would be my guess.

Why would someone trade for a 28 year old (will be in summer of 2011) RB who runs with reckless abandon? RBs are a dime a dozen (Dallas has three), so no one is going to give a pick for an old one. I think if Felix Jones proves he is not made of tissue paper, they keep Jones and Barber, move Choice (who would be much easier to move due to cap $$ and also would fetch more in return than Barber), and then they draft a Choice replacement in 2011.

Also, as someone else mentioned, this is the second year in a row they have had to use all three. Maybe they just stand pat.

As they are now I don't see Dallas trading or releasing any of them unless they are close to the cap and need the money at another position. If they need the cap space they will deal or release Barber, otherwise they won't.

All of this goes into flux though when the draft gets hear.

All Good points. Thanks guys. On that note. Does anyone think I should give up Jonathan Stewart to try and get Felix Jones or Marion Barber? Or not? You start 1 RB and I'm in a Dynasty league where you keep the players as long as they are signed to a team before the preaseason starts. If they are a free agent in real life then they are a free agent in our league. Unless they sign an extension or get traded.

Hope he recognized that he should not trade Stewart for Jones or Barber in dynasty.
