IPAD screen/digitizer replacement? Anyone? (1 Viewer)

So we have 3 (yes three Ipads) with cracked screens. Both boys have dropped their Ipads multiple times, and my wife dropped her's today. Has anyone had any luck replacing the screens? I have watched a few videos. Seems easy of course when the videos are made by professionals.

I must have dropped my original iPad at least 50 times (including dropping the screen on sharp corners) and there was not a single scratch. Apple don't make them like that anymore.

I will replace it with the giant size iPad that is coming out in 2015 but I expect less quality already.

I haven't tried it myself. There's a place in most malls that will fix it, probably about $100-$150 though.

I did follow a video to tear apart an iPod nano to determine what was wrong with it. Unfortunately, nobody has figured out how to solve the problem it had. I was able to return it to the same condition it was in when I started, though.

The tools are cheap, and the digitizer is about $50. Try it, it's only three connections once you pop the screen off.

Just wondering... Do you put the iPads in cases? They really help to protect against drops.

I bought a repair package and fixed my daughter's cracked iPhone. Good as new. They have iPad kits too.

The digitizer is the screen I believe and it is the part that is broken.

Man those prices are CRAZY high! We found a place phonedoctor here in Tulsa that replaced the screens/digitizers for 80 bucks each.
