Is ANYONE warm on Chris Henry (Titans RB) (1 Viewer)

Okay, I never watched Chris Henry is college. I've read a lot of reviews that, despite his 4.4 speed, aren't overly impressive. I know Bloom is not big on him, at all (and when EEEEEEEEEEE speaks, people, I mean I, listen :kicksrock: ) Are there any Titan homers here who have seen him during OTAs so far? Any reason to believe he could have some value in a dynasty league at some point? Would anyone take him before Meachem, Bowe, or Russell in a 1pt per reception dynasty league?

Not a Titans homer, but I can pretty much assure you that just about everyone is gonna be looking good in just shorts and t-shirts. Sure, his speed may allow him to stand out some but you won't be able to tell a whole lot else. The simple fact that they are wanting Chris Brown back would be a red flag to me. It may very well end up being a RBBC or Brown will be the workhorse barring injury. As far as where to draft him...I'm pretty sure he's already been getting drafted before Meachem and Bowe. I would assume Meachem has been dropping like a rock in drafts with his injury. However, with the Chris Brown news, Henry may/should be dropping as well. :kicksrock:

Problem is that Henry has NOT looked good in a t-shirt and shorts. He sucked enough for TN to voice public dissappointment and to go after Brown. If Brown joins the titans, I see the depth chart this way for week 1:FatDale: RB1A

Brown: RB1B

Henry: RB3

LenDale would be given an opportunity to live down his reputation and carry the mail, but Brown will be given enough opportunities to pull a Travis Henry if he has it in him. Henry will be reduced to spot work at best, and special teams. If no RB stands out (which is very likely), the Titans will spread carries around while watching Vince throw long balls and scramble around in order to try to get back into games.

IMO.

Henry had a chance to make an impression while LenDale was hurt. He didn't. Now the team feels urgency to sign Chris Brown. It's still early, but I saw most of his value in the fact the team believed in him and believed he could win a big role. Well, it doesn't seem like they feel that way now. Maybe this is just temporary and Henry will start dazzling once he's more mentally comfortable, but so far, this is not following the script that would make the Titans look brilliant for taking him.

Not sure how OTAs can make somebody not look good. I mean that's pretty tough to do. Most of the time you hear guys "looking good" coz really not hard to do that in shorts. I think from what i heard is that Wyatt - guy covering the Titans - didnt like the Titans draft initially and still surprised by the Henry pick as most were and is the one saying Henry didn't impress in the OTAs. I guess if he did, Ten won't be after Chris Brown????

Is there an article somewhere explicitly stating that Henry looked bad or are you guys reading the tea leaves with regards to the Titans renewed interest in Chris Brown?

Is Dillon in the picture at all at this point?

IMHO Dillon > CBrown

Dillon > LWhite

Dillon > CHenry

I know Dillon wore down last year but we are talking about three guys who would be lucky to start for any other team in the NFL.

It's a big red flag if an alleged top prospect doesn't perform in college. And while Arizona certainly isn't a great team, Henry had far less success there than mediocre Mike Bell and was never really able to earn the starting job. This is a guy with something like a career 3.5 YPC average and under 900 career rushing yards. That's not good.

We've seen some crazy things happen in recent years with the success of guys like Willie Parker and Marques Colston, but from where I stand it looks like Tennessee fell in love with the combine and made a stupid pick. This team has wasted many of its early picks over the past few years on junk players (Odom, Laboy, Roby, Calico, Woolfolk), so it's not like a bad 2nd round pick would be anything out of the ordinary for the Titans.

Maybe Henry comes out and proves us all wrong, but I'm not optimistic. There are probably 15-20 prospects in this draft that I'd rather have in most formats.

Don't have a specific article but there were some posted in earlier threads saying he was running with his head down and that the defensive players were pissed off at him for it.

:lmao: At this point in his career there's no way Dillon is better than Brown. The only knock against Brown is that he can't stay healthy. Otherwise, I think he'd be a very good RB.

Injury risk is a key part of my assessment.Chris Brown in his entire NFL career has rushed for 11 TDs.

Dillon last year rushed for 13 TDs.

Chris Brown has the ability but at this point her is almost worthless to a team because he will be hurt all the time.

yeah, but how does that mean he looks bad as a RB? FWIW, I'm warm. As warm as I can be with a 2nd round (FF draft) rookie who we haven't heard much positive news from. The chance is there, we'll just have to see how it plays out.

Henry was said to look good (fast with good hands) at his first day of practice.

http://www.titansonline.com/news/titans_ne....php?PRKey=4766

Fischer talking about Henry after the initial days of camp, already talking about bringing in another back.

After the initial positive impression, I recall reading an article that stated the Titan's coaching staff had noticed Henry struggling in practice. But for the life of me, I can't find this mysterious link. CAN ANYONE FIND IT? :goodposting:

There is WAY too much speculation in this thread for my liking. THe Titans would be foolish not to bring in a veteran back. The RBs on the roster are a rookie and 2 second year guys with limited on field experience. If they can't sign Brown, they should pull James Stewart out of moth balls or dust off Charlie Garner. I think one or both of Henry and White will turn in to decent NFL players, but you can't go in to a season with such youth in the skill positions.

Defensive players were fustrated because Henry was going too hard. Vince Young even got a chuckle out of it...Jim Wyatt (covers TEN) is the only person who said Henry has looked bad and several Titan homers pointed out that he has been against the Henry pick since the draft so may have his own agenda.

Brown is going to be the guy in a few days...unless Henry can really shin in camp but I have always been a Brown fan

Watch video of Henry and you'll see that he has no vision...he almost always runs outside even when holes are there inside.

Think Skip Hicks.

Brown is signed .

Meaning Henry is now third on the depth chart and will stay there ( No talent at all ) ,

One of the worst pick in years ( Cmon the guy had a average of 3ypc and was nt eventhe starter and that s in college ) what a joke.

Looks like they will have Brown signed by tomorrow ...

Is this the same Tennessean to report a deal had been made for Micheal Turner the day before the draft?
got this email from KFFL

Brown to the Titans

David Haugh, of the Chicago Tribune, reports unrestricted free-agent RB Chris Brown has agreed in principle to re-sign with the Tennessee Titans, according a source close to Brown. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
