I think Sheets will be fine as long as he's healthy. I know, big if. I watched both of his starts. He looked OK. A little rust on locating his off-speed stuff. I fully expect him to be traded before August, again assuming he's healthy. I have him on two fantasy teams as my 6th starter and I'm definitely holding at this point.
He currently looks like the worst SP in that rotation. Though that's more a compliment to everyone else rather an insult to him.
He looks like a #3/4 rotation guy right now but I imagine he's still a tad rusty. He hasn't looked bad. Just a tad out of focus. The first start both Sheets and King Felix were squeezed by the home ump. I was at the last game of his and some pitches were hitting their marks and had a lot of movement. Other times he looked mediocre at best.
Considering his track record, I think you should err on the side of thinking he's slowly regaining his form rather than lost it.
Oakland's home field will also help with his stats.
I had the over in that game, and I watched it all. Sheets looked good, doesn't have the fastball he once had but he uses his change and curve to offset the lower velocity, and he's throwing strikes.
