Is Dez Bryant 14? (2 Viewers)

What off duty cops stop someone for this? Dez might very well be a punk, but that is ridiculous .
Not as ridiculous as his response:"Mr. Bryant’s response to the request was profanity laced and [NorthPark] center representatives felt the outburst merited a request for Mr. Bryant to leave the premises," according to a Dallas police statement issued Tuesday evening."What the [expletive] are you stopping me, like I stole something," Bryant was quoted as saying by a News 8 source. "I'm not leaving until my attorney and my representative get here."Police said Bryant continued cursing as the off-duty officers escorted him to his vehicle."Mr. Bryant entered his vehicle but parked in a fire lane still refusing to leave, necessitating a request for on-duty officers to respond to the location," the Dallas police statement said.
Hey, the whole thing is ridiculous. But I disagree that his response was worse. In fact, I would like to know how often this happens at this mall. is there an army of underwear police? Paid to enforce the "rules" as Brong stated above (what rule, by the way?), and working tirelessly from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., making sure no one sees anyone else's boxer shorts. And what about bras? I see them every day, peeking out of tops, and sometimes just plain EXPOSED under a tank top!!
Probably a rule the mall owner has that doesn't allow (want) to attract customers who walk around with pants below their butt. You are seriously surprised? Come on, you know why, they are trying to attract a different customer and keep some kind of image they feel is better for biz. It's too gang-banger looking or whatever you want to call it. Now, whether any of that is right or wrong and all is a different story but let's be honest, all they care about is the buck. A Dallas mall that doesn't want young, black dudes showing off their drawers around? Yeah, I'm as shocked as you are.
You don't have to be very bright to realize that this issue isn't about boxers being exposed.1. I strongly suspect that this wasn't the first "pants on the ground" issue at this mall.2.It sounds like maybe this wasn't the first "offense" by Bryant and his "crew" either. If that is the case, how long does it take to learn the lesson that you aren't above the "socially acceptable" rules. I doubt there are "rules" posted in the mall---however most people have this internal voice called common sense---does Bryant have this said voice, or did God forget to install it?3. Maybe the "mall cop" just finished dealing with another crew and wasn't feeling overly patient and gracious at the time.(not that any of us would ever treat others that way)4. Irregardless of race, the stereotype of those that wear their pants hanging off their butts is not a good one. 95% of those I see come with a lot of negative baggage. They tend to be foul mouthed punks that don't care what they say or who they say it around. This always leads to trouble, both with peers as well as responsible adults. As a Father, I don't want my young boys exposed to that crap---and I sure don't want to deal with it. Nor do I want my wife looked up and down and offered rude sexual comments. One of the last times I witnessed one of these "crews", they had been walking around our local mall purposely spilling Mountain Dew on the floor every 20 feet or so. My family had the unfortunate "pleasure" of following behind them. A woman came walking out of a store in front of us carrying her baby daughter, slipped on the soda and took a fast and hard fall to the floor. Thankfully the baby was fine, and Mom will heal---but I alerted those in charge. No sooner did I alert them, we all heard a glass bottle smash on the floor downstairs---another "crew" of pants on the ground punks had dropped a bottle of Yoo-Hoo in the middle of the floor. The store owner was clearly upset and now there was yet another "wet cleanup in isle 4". All that to say, if you hang out with FOOLS you suffer the same consequences irregardless of whether it was ALL his fault or not.5. If Bryan ISN'T a fool, he shouldn't have any more problems with Mall Cops now should he?6. Bryant's overreaction (made a scene---vulgarities, then he parks illegally like a little child throwing a temper tantrum?) exposes his immaturity. He wasn't asked to leave until he flipped out. Although there is no surprise there given his gangsta attitude that don't take no crap from nobody, right? Or was it his entitled star status as an athlete coming up through the ranks and never hearing the word "no" as long as he performed on the field? Or is it just that he's an arrogant fool?7. Bryant needs a mentor NOT NAMED ROY WILLIAMS to teach him the ropes of life before he destroys his...you hear that, Jerrah? We know you read FBG!8. I hope the kid learns his lesson and just buys his big house, hires his personal shoppers, and sequesters himself in that house for the next 15 years of his life until he's done playing NFL football. Once he is done, or hurt, nobody will care about him anymore anyway. Shoot, he could walk around naked all day if he goes this route.9. Any chance I could get the last 20 minutes of my life back? :bag:

Looks like a somewhat different story is out now. Saying they actually love Bryant....yada, yada, yada, yada!!!!

Store clerks at Dallas mall say they'll miss Dez Bryant

Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant and his advisers continue to dispute the criminal trespass citation he received Saturday from an incident at NorthPark Center mall and his subsequent banishment from the mall for 90 days
Meanwhile, retailers at the upscale North Dallas mall characterize Bryant as a playful, friendly, sometimes loud, but definitely loyal customer. They also say he will be missed during the 90-day ban, which originated when an off-duty police officer asked Bryant or someone in his group to pull up their sagging pants.

"I need to call him to see if we need to send him anything," joked Tiffany Edmonds, a supervisor at the Gucci store. "He's here quite often. He is an amazing customer. He is always nice with the clients. He signed autographs. He is very pleasant."

The people at Foot Locker House of Hoops had similar things to say, although they declined to talk on the record. According to a person connected to the store, Bryant shops at the NorthPark Foot Locker three times a week. He routinely would sign autographs for customers. "He has all the LeBrons and Jordan shoes," the source said. "If we don't have it, we will order it for him."

Bryant was described as playful and fun-loving. "He was here when he was in the wheelchair [recovering from a fractured ankle] doing wheelies in the mall," the person said.

The story was the same from the valet parking attendant who frequently took care of Bryant's car. "We are sad to see him gone," the parking attendant said. "He would tip 40 or 50 bucks every time. He was good to us. He treated us well."

Now imagine he's white.
Even if he were white, the way he wears his pants advertises "I like bottom."Dave Chappelle:"The girl says "Oh uh-uh, wait a minute! Wait a minute! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a whore!" Which is true. Gentlemen, that is true. Just because they dress a certain way doesn't mean they are a certain way. Don't ever forget it. But ladies, you must understand that is confusing. It just is. Now that would be like me, Dave Chappelle, the comedian, walking down the street in a cop uniform. Somebody might run up on me, saying, "Oh, thank God. Officer, help us! Come on. They're over here. Help us!" "Oh-hoh! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a police officer!" See what I mean? All right, ladies, fine. You are not a whore. But you are wearing a whore's uniform."Granted every person that wears a sag isn't a hoodlum, but they are wearing a prison whore's uniform.

Meh. The dude is tipping $50 bux and is getting kicked out of a mall. Seriously, this is all I need to know to feel that he has a lot of maturing to do. To me this comes across as another NFL player who ran into money too fast. For the record, Dez is my favorite non Packer player in the league. I'd love to see him do well, but I don't see how this isn't at least concerning.

Why because he wears his pants low, and an offduty cop has nothing better to do? Cuz we all know cops are always on the up and up and not power hungry. But lets forget that people say he is friendly and fun loving. he has done nothing mean to anyone, he has sold something when he was in college and wears his pants low, WE MUST HATE HIM!PS I am not a fan of Bryant in the slightest, but I have sense to be fair and not bias.

Now people are bashing him for being liked by some, just absolutly ignorant.
Wrong. People are QUESTIONING the MOTIVATION of why he is "liked" (see also tolerated)by STORE OWNERS despite his foolish behavior. We are not bashing him for being liked. There is a large difference between the two. And if you are going to brandish us "absolutely ignorant", at least spell absolutely correct so YOU don't look like the ignorant one. :boxing:

I thought people were questioning his saggy pants, now your questioning why hes liked? Yes that is ignorant, and people who are attacking Bryant already have dislike its obvious your opinion is tainted with bias.

So u have never given anything (a gift or cash) to anyone in hopes of being liked better? A gift for your boss, dating a woman (thats if you even like them)

if you say no, you lie!

Seems to me like off-duty cops harrassed a valuable mall customer. I can't defend the horrible practice of Dez tipping 50 'bux' till you explain to me what is wrong with it.Oh, wait, is that another mall policy that I was unaware of, like the pants thing? No overtipping?

Yes some are, as people use knowledge to base an opinion of off. And as far as defending Bryant, if you cant see he was being harrassed, then well i cant force you. As far as saggy pants, no, I am not a fan...but it does not make it right to be harrassed. But if you read the whole thread you would of known my reasoning. Heaven forbid someone defend someone who is being wronged.

If you read my comments, you would have known that we AREN'T questioning his "saggy pants". We are questioning his CHARACTER and CHOICES. I do not dislike Bryant, what could I possibly have against the dude other than his immaturity and that he isn't on my dynasty team? Your whole line of reasoning is flawed here, mostly because you are clearly more interested in speaking first and listening second.

Whats odd, is I am defending a man who was wronged and harrassed for wearing his pants too low! The fact that people are attacking me, instead of wondering why a man doing nothing wrong was harrassed, shows what type of people they are. And in my opinion, wearing your pants too low is doing nothing wrong.

:boxing:
I dont worry about spell checking when i am doin many things at work, the point gets acccccrosssssssed anyways.

LOL at you completely missing every point.
I bet I am, The thread is talking about his saggy pants, attitude, and now his tipping...all in my opinion is not wrong...what point am I missing?

My point is he is being harrassed by a power hungry mall cop, but that cant be possible, cuz that would not of been the good story in the media.

:bag:
Nicely done !
Sounds like someone who does not like Bryant before his horrific action of sagging pants! Any chance this is not bias? Prolly not!
Are any OPINIONS completely unbiased? :wall: Why do you feel that you must defend Bryant so vehemently? Any chance YOU wear saggy pants to the mall?
Yes some are, as people use knowledge to base an opinion of off. And as far as defending Bryant, if you cant see he was being harrassed, then well i cant force you. As far as saggy pants, no, I am not a fan...but it does not make it right to be harrassed. But if you read the whole thread you would of known my reasoning. Heaven forbid someone defend someone who is being wronged.
I'm sorry, were you there at the mall (with Bryant and his posse AND with the Mall Cop) before, during, and after this incident went down? Do you know both sides of the story? Do you know the historical background of what has been the ethos at that particular mall? You can't have all the facts, and knowledge is based on facts. You don't know that anyone was being harassed, it's only your opinion. Secondly the story goes that it might not have been Bryant that was asked to jack his pants up in the first place, therefore IF someone was harassed, it might not have been your best friend Bryant in the first place. You don't know that he was wronged any more that I know that he wasn't...that is why the rest of us were speaking IN GENERAL of stereotypes and attitudes as well as the CHOICES that likely led to the incident and the CHARACTER that was exposed because of it.

Please tell me you're kidding too...

Football critic you keep bringing up his baggy pants. I am more bothered by him yelling profanities at a public mall with children and also sitting in the red zone. Any thoughts on his tantrum?

"The police report noted that NorthPark has a history of problems with Bryant, including a 1. "major disturbance" at a restaurant involving a woman, 2. a parking violation, and 3. cutting in line at the Apple Store."

Now we add in this incident with his baggy draws.

Hahahahaha...there's no clearly defined, OFFICIAL REPORT of a (see MULTIPLE INCIDENTS---4 by my count) CHARACTER defect in Bryant. I'm sure it was just a clear case of off-duty cops looking to "screw the man" all 4 times because they love to do paperwork and harass people. :sarcasm:

Wait...are you:fishing: too?

That's everyone's point. You're better off working on world peace then getting Football Critic to change his position or even acknowledge yours. To me it's Dez's total disregard for not just a rent-a-cop, but a police officer. Or his inability to have made it a non-issue by simply taking responsibility for his actions and moving along. Instead he responded with an angry profanity laced tirade. He's lucky to not get his face planted into the concrete and arrested just for pissing the cop off.

my bad, I had no idea there was a parking violation, and a 'cutting in line' situation. How is this maniac still running around on the streets?

Try and remember, this became an issue when off-duty police decided they knew how everyone should dress. keep that in mind.

i'm pretty sure you're fishing as well, but i'll entertain you anyway.it isn't just the way he wore his clothes, it is how he reacted to it. He acted like a middle school child. He is 23 hanging out in malls and acting like a fool, that is an activity that for most ends when they get a drivers license. What kind of weirdo hangs out in malls after 16.

the off duty police officer is enforcing what the mall wants enforced. Having a bunch of 20somethings hanging around a mall with their pants down is bad for the malls business. The mall is private property and has a dress code. If some white hick was walking around like that he would be treated the same.

throwing a temper tantrum like he did is even immature for a middle school kid, it's scary that a 23 yr old would act that way.

He has a history of behavior like this, it isn't an isolated incident and definitely isn't normal.

You are making stuff up. The cops were not mall employees, and their boss even said he was not in violation of anything. The cops were not enforcing anything, at all, other than their own opinion.

The mall has a dress code? Really? Do off-duty police moonlight enforcing it? Must be a swanky mall!

People keep talking about fishing, I think anyone thinking Dez is in the wrong is fishing.

What the hell is a Dallas cop doing bothering the Cowboys star wideout for wearing his pants too low anyone who is not breaking the law?
Fixed
The rules of a business are not always the same as the rules of the law. If the mall owner has set guidelines for his employees to enforce, then the security officers were completely in their rights to both ask him to leave, and to ban him from the premises.I think you are confusing an on-duty Dallas cop with an off-duty officer that is picking up extra money moon-lighting as a security guard.

Of course, from your responses in this thread, I don't think reading comprehension is your strong suit...

He was not making anything up...apparently you did not read the article either?
According to the official police report, Bryant and three friends were stopped by the uniformed, off-duty officers working security shortly before 8 p.m. at the popular shopping center after they were observed "wearing their pants halfway down their hips exposing their underwear."
Working Security = Employed by the Mall.

So we are pushing up to post #100 in this thread and I've yet to understand why we are insulting 14 year olds with this comparison.

My son's 14. Neither he nor any of his friends would act nearly so dooshy.

What is your opinion on1. Yelling profanities in public. 2. Parking in the red zone. Thanks.

You conveniently left out the "Major Disturbance involving a woman".
