Is dwill really with dropping already (1 Viewer)

I think he's a buy or hold right now. I did trade him away in a different league for Manningham before the season opener. Manningham is now cut for David Nelson. Just to give an idea of value.

He's fantasy purgatory...too much potential value to cut but not enough value to get anything of worth in a trade...

he is with bird dropping now... but after this weekend he may be without (one of those guys on NFL FF now likes him this week- and its a long season with a passing game being established, you never know).

He was drop worthy in the beginning of the year he dropped 20 TDs. Not saying he'll do that again, but you never know.

I'm going to be a contrarian and play him this week over game-time-decision Beanie.
Desperation, not being contrary has me starting him in my dynasty league this week having lost Charles and Foster. That said, Williams is too good to remain bottled up the way he has the first two weeks. The success of the Pantherpassing game should eventually reap rewards for the team's running game and Williams stats should be much improved. I would say it is way too early for him to be sent to the ww.

Not only contrarian, but ballsy. I have to decide between Weanie Beanie/DWill/Greene/McGahee. Hate all my options if Beanie is out. maybe I'll go w/ your gut call on DWill. Might as well start my supposed late 5th Rd bargain, lmfao.

I think it's ludicrous to drop DeAngelo already. We know he's talented, and he's still the lead back in a RBBC. The Panthers aren't going to only run the ball 11 times with their RBs every game, and although Cam takes away carries, we've seen how that threat can help a runner, like it does with Lesean/Vick. Defenses so far have been playing the Panthers by stacking the box and playing the run. Once they start respecting the deep ball, and possibly putting a spy on Cam, the running game should open up.

Either way, DeAngelo has a better chance of producing numbers than the other RBs out there. A guy in my league just dropped DeAng for Javon Ringer, and the guy doesn't even have CJ2k. That's insane.

agreed. some people around here are so fickle, and prone to massive overreaction. He is the definition of a hold, because you won't get #### for him in a trade.

I think DWill definitely s/b dropped in leagues that have two week seasons. Others should exercise A LITTLE FREAKING PATIENCE! It's been 2 games people, the sky's not falling.

Have the same choice to make. CAR plays in the early game - Beanie in the late game. I can start DWill and be done with the decision or wait til the late game and plug in Lynch if Beanie is a no-go. At least I know Lynch will get carries. I just don't have confidence that DWill will get more than 10 touches, and of course he appears to be the 3rd option in the red zone behind Stewart and Cam. Unbelievable situation for for a 28 year old semi-stud who was just handed a boatload of cash. The only possible positive scenario I can envision for DWill tomorrow is that CAR goes up big against a rookie QB-led JAC offense and they keep the ball on the ground to control the clock. Short of that I just don't see that the CAR brain trust has any interest in running the ball. Hell, I might just plug in Stewart ahead of all of them - at least he's getting the check downs. I still love DWill's talent - I just don't trust Rivera & Co.

for years there was intense back and forth about jstew taking dwill's position as lead back. is it ironic that it has finally happened with almost no commentary?

I planned on DWill being my number 2/3 for the season. My RB's included, MJD, DWill, Blount, FJax, and Tate. I was wanting to upgrade my WR3 spot behind AJ and VJax. I reached out to the Charles owner to see if he was interested in making a deal and to let me know. Initially threw out the idea of trading DWill. He had a good set of WR's. He ended up offering me Boldin for DWill. I replied back that I would do that deal, however I thought I was getting the better side, and would trade Blount for Boldin. He replied back, said that he would do either but was OK with DWill. He said he was a little sceptical with Newton slinging it for 400, but is hopeful that it will open up things for him.

I made a blockbuster of a deal last year as well with him. I had Foster, ADP, Bradshaw and Hillis. He was in need of RB depth. I ended up trading Bradshaw, Hillis, and a WR4 for CJ2K. It helped both of us in the long run. He went from a team with no shot to just missing the playoffs. It allowed me to bench ADP towards the end of the year and secure the high point prize for the league.

Duke,I just PMed you my fax number. Please keep me abreast of any and all developments for your fantasy team. Z

I am concidering starting him this week over Mark Ingram. Aaron Kampman is out for JAX, and Matt Roth is questionable! I believe JAX D is good, but we saw DWILL get a solid number of carries week 1, I think he can get more this week, and his problem has been the 2nd level so I think that will improve. Stewart has done no better running the ball, so I wont put it down as a DWill problem entirely. However the O-line should get Jeff Otah back this week as well. All good signs. Ingram on the other hand also has had trouble at the 2nd level, and is facing all HOU LBs who were on the injury list as particing fully. Ryans, Cushing, and Mario will give him a hard time I am sure, with JJWatt.

Finally dropped him last night to make room for Torain. Boy did that feel good....I highly recommend it!

Odd that you would drop him a week after he actually showed that he's getting back to his old self. He looked really good against Chicago, and I think he's due for a breakout this week.

We have very short benches so had to drop either him or JStew. I paid 3 times more for DWill than Stewart on draft night but I believe Stewart is the better back to own this season. I'm certain DWill will get scooped up as soon as he becomes available on our wire. Personally I'm not looking back. I'm tired of watching his talent wasted between the 20's and hoping for a long score. I'll let someone else enjoy the fun for a while. Happy to have Torain over DWill.

I agree 100%, especially in PPR. Cam will get banged up a bit if he keeps running in the red zone. Eventually they will go back to the RB for goal line scores. The only way DWILL will scores is to break a 30+ yard run and he will, but not every week.

I dropped him in my 8 team league that I was realatively deep at in rbs. Cam seems to be goal line back, then you got Stewart and Goodson taking carries. Also dropped him in a 10 team league I control for a lady I know. No one will touch him in my 12 team dynasty or 12 team redraft when I try to trade him. I actually value him more than others I guess. Someone did pick him up off the wire in my 8 team league, not sure who his other rbs are, if anyone cares I can check.

Don't remind me of that. I picked him up in my local league that year after somebody dropped him. I held him for a couple weeks and then dropped him to waivers after he did jack squat. He then promptly exploded and took my buddies team to the title. I would pick him up in any league he is dropped. Newton won't be throwing for 400 yards every game. Stewart is always dinged up. But that offense is clicking. He is worth rostering....
