I can't seem to shake the feeling that he's going to revert to the all-yards, no-TD production of a few years ago. I have no real reason to feel this way. Am I being stupid?

Yeah most likely.Nah, I mean I think his numbers will be similar to how they were last year, they are going to be a run-first team again this year. I think he's a safe bet for top 10 production but how much running the ball is being stressed in STL and how good Jackson is at it, I can't see him with as high of a ceiling as the other WRs being drafted in the same area.

You really think STL is going to be a run first team? They just signed Randy McMichael and Drew Bennett, and gave Bulger $27M in guarantees. The Rams should continue to be a pass first team, as they've been for close to a decade now.As for Holt, he had a down year in '06, which is troubling. But if his knee is fine, he shouldn't have any trouble surpassing last year's numbers.

I don't know about all that. Torry Holt was on fire the first half of the season (12.8 ppg) but cooled off the second half (8.8 PPG). Not coincidentally Orlando Pace was hurt and so was Holt during this time period. If they're both healthy Holt should have another great season possibly better than the season before.

Housh is a year younger than Holt.He doesn't have a history of not scoring tons of TDs; that would be Housh or Roy Williams. Neither has ever hit 10 in a season; Holt has hit 10 in 3 of the past four seasons, and probably would have the other year if he hadn't gotten hut.You can not like Holt for whatever reasons you want, but the arguments you've presented are baseless. He ranked 6th last year in a very down year for him. He's scored the 4th most FPs at the position over the past two years, the 3rd most over the past three years, and the most over the last four.

Wayne is the very next pick after Holt (ADP wise) really equal. If I didn't like Holt like you I go Harrison...before Wayne!But Holt is best bet.

Housh is a year younger than Holt.He doesn't have a history of not scoring tons of TDs; that would be Housh or Roy Williams. Neither has ever hit 10 in a season; Holt has hit 10 in 3 of the past four seasons, and probably would have the other year if he hadn't gotten hut.

Knee injury??? Anyone have an update re: that issue?

No coach in the NFL targets their #1 WR inside the 10 yard line than Scott Linehan. This has been his track record since his days as offensive coordinator in Minnesota.

The knee may be an issue but Holt is in the best offense in the league for a #1 WR.

Just had a draft and took him as the thrid WR off the board to pair with CJ (who I took as first WR off board -- Smith was #2).

Was debating this with co-owner, we back and forth between Harrision, Owens & Holt. Ultimately went with Holt. Don't ask me why, just one of those decisions. But we certainly didn't have any reservations about him.

He may not have these outstanding games with 150+ yds and 2 TDs but he won't disappear on you either because Manning decided to target Wayne instead of Harrison on that given week. That's the bottom line with Holt.

by his own admission, his knee is only 70%...no way he bests last years numbers, if that knee doesn't heal quickly..McMichael is a bum, I doubt he contributes anything meaningful...and Bennett isn't much better..Bruce is long in the tooth..

this is an aging offense, and defenses in the NFC west have gotten better, albeit at a snails pace, but,they are getting better..

In 2005--10 for 163 and 1 TD and another game of 9 for 163 and 1 TD

In 2004--6 for 124 and 2 TDs and another of 10 for 160 and 1 TD (not even looking at 6/151/1 or 7/116/2)

In 2003--7 for 174 and 1 TD and another of 11 for 161 and 2 TDs (or how about 12/133/1 or 9/124/1 or 10/124/1)

I'm leaving out a ton of 10+ and 100 yd games. He doesn't have the name "Big Game" Holt for nothing.
