Is it the QBs? Or the WRs? (1 Viewer)

Okay, so I read Pete Brisco's article today giving his grades for the weekend. And he begins his take on how there are so many "no name" QBs in the league ...

**********

"Did you happen to take a look around the NFL on Sunday and see who the quarterbacks were in some of the games?

When Vinny Testaverde is one of the better QBs on any given Sunday, you know you're in trouble. (AP)

We had 120-year-old Vinny Testaverde starting for Carolina. Also playing were Tim Rattay, Derek Anderson, Kyle Boller, Damon Huard, Gus Frerotte, Kerry Collins, Cleo Lemon, Tarvaris Jackson and Brian Griese.

What has happened to all the star quarterbacks? ...."

**********

So, initially, I buy in to the argument since, let's face it, QBs are dropping like flies in the league and there are a very few who make their team better.

But, as I watched some of the ATL-NYG game today, I began to question the argument. Sure, their are QBs who still stand out ... Brady, Favre, P. Manning, maybe Romo and Palmer ... and there are teams many couldn't name the starting QB. Conversely, there is Owens and even Moss' resurrected career.

So here is my counter-argument ... sans the obvious Brady who turnes no-names in to talent lately, or maybe the WR who turns a QB in to a name (Romo?) ... What true stud WRs are out there?

Evans, Chambers, Boldin, S. Moss, Burress, Colston (1 yr.), Walker ... all these guys were "studs" and now can't catch? Add those tanked seasons with the number (percentage) of drops and I am not sure I buy Brisco's argument without contention now. I'll have to look back over the weekend, but it sure seems like we have seen a HUGE increase in dropped balls this season. The example to ponder is Atlanta ... even with Vick, these guys ares stone handed manequins with a heartbeat. Harrington has not played horribly, and yet ever other pass seems to be dropped. The same held true for both Jackson and Griese yesterday in Chicago ... for Campbell for Washington, and Hasselbeck last night for Seattle.

Do the receivers suck and the QBs not getting their due? Or do the Qbs suck and the WRs can't compensate for them?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm ...........

for the games that boldin has played he has been a monster so you can take him off your list. Burress has tore it up and is the #2 WR so far this year so i dont know why he is on your list.

As for your arguement, QBs suck and the WR cant compensate. Look at steve smith, he is obviously a top 5 stud WR but with Carr at the helm, he was reduced dud status.
