Is Josh Morgan STARTING today? (1 Viewer)

Was Morgan even on field today?
he started but it looks like he still splits time with Bryant Johnson. What's confusing is the fact that Jason Hill got a lot of reps today. If you were to run down the SF WR ranks, you would think it would be...BruceMorganBattle (slot)Bryant JohnsonHillFor some reason, Jason Hill was on the field for the 4-WR sets and I saw him in on a couple 3-WR sets at the goalline. Looks like Singletary is shaking things up.
Singletary is an idiot.

Mike Martz runs the offense. Singletary probably had nothing to do with Josh Morgan's playing time.

What happened to all the hype on this guy? Two weeks ago he was The Next Big Thing™, and now he's all but forgotten. He's only owned in 8% of ESPN leagues (compared to 81% for Issac Bruce) and FBGuys don't even have him ranked among the top-65 WRs.

Think about that for a moment: there are 55 other starting WRs this week, and FBGuys believes Morgan will be outscored by all of them -- plus at least 10 guys coming off the bench! All this despite the fact that he's playing against the #28 fantasy defense this week!

I'm not posting to "call out" the people doing the rankings -- I'm doing it to point out how quickly a guy can go from obscurity to the spotlight and then back to obscurity again.

And if the #28 fantasy defense does what it's supposed to do, he'll be back in the spotlight on Monday Tuesday morning.

 No way I can argue that bit of logic. Why I picked him up this morning.

Flash in the pan... Great dynasty potential, but, not right now.

I don't see any reason he can't bounce right back --- he was benched in that last game.

my only worry is the hill (shaun) effect --- throwing to gore and hill (other) all night won't help the cause.

2 weeks ago, everyone was going crazy about Morgan, starting him over some guys normally ranked above him. He disappointed, got 0 catches due to an early drop in the game, and now everyone is off the bandwagon ----> that means start Morgan this week with confidence !!!

I agree. Not about the Jack & Coke, about Morgan being a very viable option this week. The only thing I'm worried about is Jason Hill stealing the show.

Couple of notes:

Jason Hill - WR Nov. 8 - 12:27 pm et

Niners WR Jason Hill will fill in for Arnaz Battle (foot) as the No. 3 WR Monday at Arizona.

Coach Mike Singetary says he's excited about his young receivers, Hill and Josh Morgan. Receivers coach Jerry Sullivan also hinted that the opportunity could lead to an increased role for Hill if he impresses Monday. Dynasty leaguers should monitor Hill's performance Monday night.

Shaun Hill - QB Nov. 7 - 8:44 pm et

ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer believes that Shaun Hill's arm strength is underrated and puts it in the same class as Steve Young's.

Dilfer was teammates with Hill in 2007 before retiring. He says Hill's quick release will help offset blitzing, which naturally should cut down on turnovers. No team has surrendered more sacks or had as many TOs as the 49ers at the halfway point. Only one team (the Jets) has thrown more picks.

Dynasty wise I still believe Josh Morgan is a future stud. Not every WR does great things or for that matter anything their rookie year. We can list dozens of great WR's who fall into this catagory.

Hill is just as talented as Morgan. I'm excited to finally see Jason Hill get an opportunity. He hasn't got much PT, but looked good in the preseason
