Is Larry Fitzgerald startable this weekend? (1 Viewer)

On one hand, you think back to Fitz 2010 & cringe. But on the other hand, it hasn't really been any better with Kolb, so he shouldn't really lose anything with Skelton.

Still, I'll probably sit him for Holmes.

He is listed as a top 2-3 guy in most rankings I'm seeing. I don't see him producing at that level, but it's interesting.

The most accurate man in Fantasy rankings has him ranked at no 8 (Fitzmaurice)

The shrink has him at 6.

Both highly inflated IMO. STL proved last week they can take the air out of a decent team.... SJax is on fire.

Skelton has a better arm than Kolb. He will be playing loose without a huge contract. Skelton is also 6'6 and he's gonna be looking to Fitzgerald 6'3 all day.

When they get in the redzone, the two tallest players will be looking to make plays. Yes start Fitzgerald. Don't get cute.

Of course you start him (unless you have a serious WR corps)But there's a good chance he does not put up big numbers this week. Then again, he's Fitz and can make magic out of nothing.

One game (albeit an impressive one) isn't enough to convince me the Rams defense has turned the corner. Fitz's stats have gotten worse with Kolb so I don't see how things will be bad for him this week with a QB who threw the ball to him a ton last season. I think there's a very good chance we see a Larry Fitzgerald game this week.

The top 3 wide receiver projectors in the business, have him ranked 11, 10 and 1 respectively this week. (sorry, no FBG's made this list)

As far as I can tell, he is the player with the most variance this week, and rightfully so.

He's definitely a starter, no doubt. Never bench Fitz. But hard to tell if he puts up a 4pt game, or a 30pt game.

There's a very real chance Skelton is better than Kolb.
Skelton is a better fantasy QB than 2011 version of Kolb. But Kolb is a better real life QB than Skelton since he can manage a game better. In our case, we only care that Skelton is a 6'6 QB who isn't afraid to chuck it to Fitzgerald and his arm is better than Kolb's.

This. Kolb has been awful since week 2. He hasn't had a qb rating above 86.9. If you've been starting Fitzgerald that shouldn't change because he doesn't have Kevin Kolb throwing to him. This thread has made me  .

If Skelton is so much better then Kolb, why hasn't he started? QBs who haven't played in a year usually don't come in and set the world on fire.

Skelton is a better fantasy QB than Kolb. Better arm, is willing to chuck it. Kolb is a better "real life" QB cause he can manage a game better and has more experience. All you need to care about is that Skelton has a canon of an arm.

Yep. That's what I said, "Skelton is so much better than Kolb."

Skelton is not mobile, but he's also not flighty like kolb. He'll stand in the pocket and make plays. He can also work doucet and fitz on slants against the blitz. Beanie being injured hurts, but:

Fitzgerald could have his best day so far this season.

Seriously.

I'm really looking forward to this game with Skelton. Kolb has been bad this year, and flees the pocket at the first sign of distress. I am hoping that Skelton can hang in there for that extra beat and allow the WR's to get open.

I'll be starting Fitz and Beanie, and keeping my fingers crossed.

Long time Fitz owner here and I actually liked Skelton last year in terms of FF production for Fitz. All the games didn't pan out but one thing was sure; Skelton got the memo on the fact that Fitz was the player that he needed to lock onto and I like that.

Fitzgerald had his two highest yardage (both 125 yards) and reception (9 and 11) games with Skelton at QB last season.

Skelton looks like an upgrade for Larry Fitzgerald the way Kolb has been playing.

This. Coming from Fordham Skelton may need another year or two before he proves it, but IMO Kolb's not that good and Skelton's got the physical tools and a decent shot to develop into a legit NFL starter.

At least Skelton knows that Fitzgerald is one of the best WRs in the game, is by far the best offensive weapon on AZ (with all due respect to Beanie having a very good year), and will likely make sure that he gets a ton of targets.

Fitzgerald is clearly a good start this week, even with Skelton at QB. Should get 6-8 catches for 80-100 yards and a good chance at a score.

I don't have any other options, but even if I did there is no way I would bench him. This week has 15+ points written all over it. :banned:

this thread makes me want to pick up Skelton and start him with the great match-up. St. Louis has lost there top 3 or 4 CB's...although I'm not sold AZ OL will hold up against their DL

Not sure if it was mentioned, but Skelton has a cannon arm. Should help Fitz stretch the field, and he may have a chance to make a big play.

I don't see Skeleton as any worse than Kolb and I have started Fitzgerald every week other than the bye so far...no point in changing now.

I was thinking about benching him for Manningham, but how do you bench Fitzgerald...against the Rams no less? 48 year old Al Harris and whoever the heck else the Rams have left at CB will be covering him, if Skelton can get the ball anywhere near Fitzgerald's zip code he should have a good game.

What he (and Steelwind) said.

WTF, 2 catches for 15 yards through 2 and a half quarters? What gives? Not being targetted? I Skelton really that bad?

So far, he's been targetted 8 times, but the throws are terrible.

Let the freaking guy play a whole game, gents. He was not targeted much at all early on, but at least made his start respectable.

Thank god my league counts all 4 quarters of games.

Otherwise I might be whining like some of you who must be in 1st Half or 3rd Quarter Only Leagues.
