Is Marcel Reece the new handcuff for Michael Bush? (1 Viewer)

Taiwan Jones is out for the second week in a row with the hammy. Who knows if DMC will come back at all - especially in time to be relevant for the fantasy playoffs. I know Reece is really a FB/H-back but he's becoming one of Carson's favorites and gets carries too. They have Rock Cartwright as another backup RB but Reece has gotten more carries to spell Bush than Rock Cartwright.

So would you insure M. Bush with Reece?

I guess.

I had Reece in dynasty for a while last year. Problem was he had no clear spot. If bush and dmc are both out, he is a very capable player. But that's the only scenario he is playable IMO.

That's the only scenario I'm worried about. If it got into the middle of the fantasy playoffs and Bush somehow (knock on wood) got dinged up - and DMC still wasn't ready - then I'd like to have as many options as possible including still having the starting/most-featured RB of the Raiders - and that might be Marcel if this happened, right?

My question is wouldn't this require a basic-level change in the offense? They are usually running a two back set. So is Reece locked into his position? Is he promoted and they build a one back offense around him? Does Reece get his own lead blocker?

does talent trump scheme? I'm thinking yes in this case. Jackson has hardly used Cartwright outside of special teams, no?

I wouldn't go so far as to call Reece a handcuff, because he's already carving out a niche role in that offense as a H-back. Still I would put him in line to get a big bump in touches should Bush go down.
