Is Maroney a Jabroney? (1 Viewer)

I just made a three for one trade so I had two roster spots open. I snagged Faulk and Morris with the hopes that Maroney will continue to be the bust of the year! Sharks please weigh in!

Even money Morris goes on IR and won't see the field again this year. Maroney will not be a bust in the second half.

I agree with this. I can't shake the feeling that BB has been playing possum with the running game and keeping Maroney fresh for the 2nd half. They'll have to run more as the winter wears on (even the mighty Pats passing game can stall in snow/wind/rain/ice/cold).

I have been saying this since August. NE will ramp up Maroney in December to get him primed for a Super Bowl run. This is not really much of a secret anymore, yet there are threads on this every other day.

:lmao: The Pats been flying Air Brady all season and it's been working and haven't been stopped. No reason to change tactics until they have to.

This is nothing more than speculation. And you are assuming Maroney can stay on the field. You might be right but I just haven't seen anything from him at all this year.

I was just looking at Maroney a few minutes ago. The guys's averaging about five yards a carry, and with the weapons the Pats have, I'm having a hard time seeing him falling below that. With Brady, Moss, Welker, Stallworth, and Watson how can you even start to defend the run. Seriously...Maroney will be running against 6 maybe 7 man fronts all year long. This should make him a yardage beast. Throw in a few TDs, and you have the makings of a top 10 back the rest of the way. I thought about looking at the Pats remaining schedule against the run, but it doesn't even matter. Remember last week how Washington was supposed to "semi-contain" the Pats offense, and the game was suppose to be the Pats first true challenge. Turn out to be the worst ###-whipping of the year. These guys just can't be stopped. The only problem is the number of carries he's been getting, but I think we start to see those rise this week against Indy, while eating up the clock.

I wouldn't put it past Belichick to get teams in pass coverage packages and then go no huddle and run Maroney 8 times in a row.

If not in the opening series, we'll definitely see these kind of drive charts in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. There is an obligation to "run at speed" owing to a fundamental weakness of the Tampa 2 personnel strategy (particularly without Booger Mcfarland).
