Is Marrion Barber hurt (1 Viewer)

Owner Jerry Jones still worries about Marion Barber's ability to get through a full season without a serious injury.Analysis: "His liability is that he will never not be physical," Jones said. "He doesn't get any 'free' stuff. There's always something happening at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of every damn run." Jones acknowledges that he'd rather use Barber as the "closer" rather than the starter, but the coaches want him on the field in the first series to set a physical tone. Coach Wade Phillips and coordinator Jason Garrett expect the "status quo" in this year's backfield.
Interesting dynamic on the Cowboys to start the year. Front office and coaching staff are not on the same page.

right now i see MB3 as a low risk, high reward pick. i got him late as my RB3/4 (along with reggie bush as my RB3/4) who has the potential to put RB1/2 numbers IF he gets the TDs. not much out there at pick 60-80 with that much upside.

i'm banking on a return closer to 2007-2008 numbers (1200 total yards, 9-12 TDs) given his injury last year and a supposedly surging, high powered offense. if he gets injured, or puts up his pedestrian numbers ala 2009 (1100/7), i'm ok with that from my RB3/4

God that had to hurt... :blackdot: As for Barber vs. Jones, etc. I'm just going to let the season play out. I'm not in any FF leagues this year, took the season off to focus on some other more important things. And next year who knows if the NFL will be functioning.

Nonetheless, I would agree with Todd Archer that "if the Boys' RBs carry the ball 30 times a game, Jones sees 15, Barber 10, and Choice 5". We'll see though. I have a feeling this preseason the Boys have run so little, because they don't want to show their hand too much. And has anyone else noticed in the preseason, all of Barber's runs have been outside, Jones' inside? Interesting to me.

For those who say Jones missed 12 games in the last two seasons, isn't that a bit misleading? He missed 2 last year, Barber missed 1. Barber missed 3 the year prior. Not a huge difference. Plus who did they lean on in the playoffs last season? Jones...

Take a look at the last 6 games they played last year (incl. 2 playoff games):

Barber: 73 carries, 271 yards, 3.7 YPC, 3TD

Jones: 79 carries, 475 yards, 6.0 YPC, 2TD

@gnarboots11 - "He has never even been able to carry the ball more than 15 times in a single game." Try taking a look at the playoff game against Philly...

Anywho, I probably won't be on here that much this season, so, like Felix "catch me if you can" :goodposting:

It hurt a bit, but not as much as you would think. As it turns out, maybe you were right about Jones and Addai. :football:

Dallas has looked pretty bad running the ball this preseason. I know some of it is due to missing 2 starters on the line but i cant help but think that they will struggle all year unless they pick a back to get enough carries to get into a rythym. This one series for Barber then one series for Jones isnt gonna cut it...
