I will eat ketchup on a burger from a fast food chain, but that is it. I don't think i have eaten ketchup anywhere else in the last 20 years.

What do you all use ketchup on?

Burgers, hot dogs, fries and really any fried potato type dish (tots, hash browns, etc). Ketchup is a must with your basic backyard BBQ.

Hotdogs get onions, sauerkraut, and spicy mustard or chili and onions.
Fries get ranch or bbq sauce or sometimes bbq mixed with ranch
hashbrowns/tator tots do not get eaten

Haha, I get it, you don't like ketchup but it's a pretty popular condiment here in the US.

popular doesn't make something good bromigo (ie: taylor swift)

No one said it did little buddy....just stating the facts
ok kiddo

Having lived in the south, coke was definitely a generic term but it wasn't used for ordering. It was more like "let's run to the store and grab a couple of cokes and some nabs."

Nabs? Is that what you guys call chips down there or something?
I'm from South Carolina and we didn't call all sodas Coke. We called them what they were. I want a Sprite. Now, the older generation only drank Coke, they weren't interested in Sprite, Orange, Grape, Root beer sodas. Yes, I still say soda, yall can have pop.

Nabs were the packs of cheese or peanut butter and crackers. I moved to the north after living in the south and was laughed at regularly. I purged most of the southern lingo I had. This included the word "fixin." I now live in Florida, which is also not the south.

I have never heard the term nabs to refer to snack crackers. Is nabs short for Nabisco?

Do yall remember glass bottles? Nothing made you feel more defeated than when you dropped it and it cracked. And you knew you weren't getting another one. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
When I was a kid I would run around barefoot a lot on the streets. Back then there were no returnable bottle laws and broken soda and beer bottles would litter the streets and sidewalks. Plus the top metal tabs for cans removed from the can itself. It's amazing I didn't bloody my feet more than I did.

Whataburger has their own ketchup? I haven't eaten there in years and when I did I thought they didn't even put ketchup on their burgers. It was mayo or something? This surprises me.

Not only do I remember them but I remember getting "cash" for collection efforts which funded/started my "underground" candy business at school. Candy profits are nice! #hustlingstartedyoung

They put mustard on their burgers. Ask me how I know. :oldunsure: :x
That's what it was.

How do you know.

Ketchup and Mustard on a burger is amazing.
I don't like anything on my burgers except cheese, but since I'm a food hypocrite I will certainly dunk them in ketchup (or gravy if at Whataburger, or Buffalo sauce if at McDonald's). I don't like it if they're already on the burger... makes the buns all nasty. I like to regulate how much of "x" I'm getting on the burger per bite. I know, I'm strange.

If you cook with ketchup to make a sauce (e.g. BBQ, currywurst, tonkatsu), you can add 1/4 tsp of baking soda into a cup of simmering ketchup to neutralize some of the acid and mellow your sauce a little. Cook it down until the soda stops foaming.
