you talk to my man jang-dam westside? tell him floppo from the hiznest sent you.Spent Monday on the boardwalk in OCMD. Very pleasant crowd. Kids loved it and none of the rides flew off the rails, so I'm happy about that.

It really begins to Peter off between 30/40th and 60th.... past Secrets or whatever it's called it's much more chill generally speaking, especially with a few decent food options (bigger end or just better ingredients and not just another dough roller #45. You get that second grouping of tower condos around 85/90th or so but still nothing like being 30th or under by the boardwalk and downtownYeah, we were not interested in the craziness downtown. We love it where we are.
I did the Jolly Roger water park (first time) when I was there earlier this month. They have an afternoon "happy hour" special and there's a coupon in the OC circulars making it like $20 a person from like 2 or 3 - close.Trimpers or jolly Roger?
My in-laws have a house in ocean pines on one of the canals. Very relaxing, but boring for the kids after a day or two.where you staying? eta: we'll be in ocean pines or in the toll bros community on 611 towards assateague
I'll be buying my meth from jang-dam westside over on 53rd by the candy kitchen.
ocean pines spot is on the canal too- near the tennis/swimming club. yeah- a little boring, other than going swimming. I wish I had bought kayaks years ago... even though I'm sure one of BILs would've sunk them. for us it's a chance to get the kids hanging with their cousins either at a pool or on the beach at assateaque. My in-laws have a house in ocean pines on one of the canals. I have a place up near Acer. Drove home this morning at 430.
Lol, there are two different "amusement parks" on the boardwalk. That is why I asked. My kids like Trimpers better. Afternoon bracelet is 24 bucks or so.I did the Jolly Roger water park (first time) when I was there earlier this month. We did the actual boardwalk this time. Plenty of parking on the streets and no crowds. Got my annual thrasher fries too.
Antique stores right. Pretty sure we went there last yearA great half day or three hour excision from OC is the little town of Berlin. Classic beautiful old downtown / Main Street to walk around, get lunch or old school ice cream, awesome historic architecture, too. Some arts shops but enough to keep kids entertained if for only a couple hours.
Nice respite from the beach, especially middle of a full week at the shore
Yup. A fountain soda shop IIRC and that type of ol' timey Americana.Antique stores right. Pretty sure we went there last year
Was this you?Heading to Lewes on Sunday for a week. Will make it down to Funland in Rehoboth once or twice, hopefully the kids have finally aged out of the waterpark at Jungle Jim's. Both towns are really nice for a lazy old man like me.
When I was a kid, I'd spend my entire summer with my mom's parents at their island cabin in New Hampshire. Swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing - they actually filmed On Golden Pond there. By the time I was 12 or so, I'd be bored out of my mind by mid-August. At that point, my parents would come pick me up, and then we'd go for a week at the beachfront condo my dad's parents rented at 47th Street in Ocean City, MD. It was 1981, and I would go wild - waterslides, mini golf, arcades, go karts, candy shops, you name it. My brother and I would spend hours on the boardwalk.
Being there made my mom's skin crawl, and I always thought she was so boring and lame. Now Ocean City makes my skin crawl, too, and I'm celebrating not going to the waterpark. Still like mini-golf, though.
Wow, somehow never heard of that movie but now really want to see it.
Oh yeah. Not the one with the "sling shot" on the beach. The concrete jungle.Lol, there are two different "amusement parks" on the boardwalk. That is why I asked. My kids like Trimpers better. Afternoon bracelet is 24 bucks or so.
Thanks. Anyone that asks us I send to Lombardis after you told me about it. It is as close to MY pizza as we had there. If I'm ever down on the boardwalk for dinner (which we never are) will def check out Sopranos.@AcerFC I found a pretty good pizza place 1 street off the boardwalk and 1-2 streets below first st. It's called Sopranos (like the show). I was skeptical, but the pizza was good, fair price and not too crowded. It was just what we needed that night.
I got Lombardi's again when I was there July 4th weekend. Good as usual.
The movie theater right across the street put in recliners and allows you to choose your seats. Awesome since you can stroll in 5 minutes before.Funny for me to read all the OC talk. I grew up on the eastern shore and worked summers in Ocean City for 8 years straight (Ponzetti's on 144th street). Back in those days, Seacrets was members only, Fish Tales was a complete dive, and the boardwalk was only slightly trashy compared to its current state. Maybe I spent too much time there growing up, but now I absolutely loathe the place and only make it back for 1 or 2 days a summer (basically when my son wears me down -- at least I get to experience the nostalgia of riding the Zipper). My brother actually lives on 5th street and is always inviting us down, but I just can't do it. Absolutely awful on that end of town.
My frat boy idiot NYC crew is doing the summer beach house in OC this summer. Newly single Koya gonna break out the Joisey Shah-wa moves and act like a 26 year old acting like an 18 year old.Ocean City is a nightmare at the moment.
Nightmare.
Filled with people from New Jersey.
Double nightmare.

I normally agree. Today is weird.Late to this but Ocean City, NJ is about it. It's not very exciting but it's great for families. You don't have to worry about ####### 20 something's or older drunks or meth addicts ruining your kids childhoods. Just safe, family fun.
I just dodged the usual summer OC trip.... family wedding in HI taking it's place- fares dropped down into floppinho affordable since the volcanos and whatnot. We'll probably still head there around the 4th or labor day.Ocean City is a nightmare at the moment.

Took floppinha to Coney a couple weeks ago. Rainy Sunday and empty, thankfully. All she wanted to do was rides and games. Proabably cheaper to fly to HI.Ocean City is a nightmare at the moment.

Well yea I can see that attracting the riffraff. I'm going in a couple weeks. Should be fine by then.I normally agree. Today is weird.
It's 1 ticket Thursday for the rides so every kid from a 50 mile radius under 5 is here. On top of Koyas bros.
Definitely. Get really nice deeper into the summer.Well yea I can see that attracting the riffraff. I'm going in a couple weeks. Should be fine by then.
If you are waiting a few weeks, even business as usual will have few peopleI thought there was another thread on the Jersey/Delaware beaches but I can never find what I’m looking for with the search function, this will have to do
Thinking of a long weekend in a few weeks, wondering if anyone has been recently and can tell me if it’s business as usual this year (huge crowds on beaches and boards)?
We were in Ocean City NJ last year the weekend of September 12th, totally packedIf you are waiting a few weeks, even business as usual will have few people
I'm in Ocean City (just outside)MD right now. If this place is any indication, it's business as trashy/packed usual. Only difference is indoor dining/drinking is limited.I thought there was another thread on the Jersey/Delaware beaches but I can never find what I’m looking for with the search function, this will have to do
