There is a broken selfie stick in my house. My wife got one as a bridal shower gift. She used it a few times but has the Note phone and I guess it was too heavy as the thing that holds the phones in broke.

should have a third option: what the hell is a selfie stick

since i don't know what it is I will go out on a limb and answer No

I saw someone using one for the first time about a week ago. It looked incredibly stupid and I was embarrassed for those involved.

I actually thought these were a joke until very recently. I'm stunned it's a real product.

I was at the beach and saw a group of girls posing with one.

I said something like, OMG how embarrassing, then my cousin said she was gonna buy one recently but didn't.

Judging by her latest FB posts...she got one.

Just stop.

You know what a selfie stick is
nope...I'm in my mid 40's no kids... i just googled it though... I was aware this existed just didn't connect to the name of the product.

Judging by the name only, it sounds like something a former Ashely Madison client would need

Not yet but my 13 y/o son will undoubtedly get one as soon as he can afford it because he is a product of his age. He is quite taken with his own self image and believes the world needs to see his wonderful self as it does all kinds of ordinary crap throughout the day.

Where have I failed??

Aren't they like $8?

Or is that like the cheap chinese knock off?

He first has to payoff the game(s) he has on layaway at GameStop and at $10/wk for allowance that takes awhile.

Can a baseball bat be considered a selfie stick? As in if one is taking a selfie, you destroy the camera with the stick.

How does the stick push the take-picture button?
Most newer phones use the volume button to take a picture in self portrait mode. As the volume buttons are along the top of the phone, it makes it easier then trying to hold the phone with your fingers and using your thumb to press the camera button. Anyhow, the selfie stick plugs into your audio port, where you would plug head-phones into, and pressing the button on the stick turns the volume up, similarly to many of the headphones that come with your phone, so when your phone is in self portrait mode, and the volume button is pressed, boom picture.

Or it connects via bluetooth.

:bag: :scared:

my sister-in-law got a selfie stick, and I told her what a stupid thing I thought it was. so she bought one for my wife. ugh.
