Even if Jackson himself is too dopey or flakey or spiteful to get this, surely his agents are not.
All the evidence indicates his agents are indeed dopey, flakey, spiteful and stupid. Probably a few other dwarves as well.

instead of coming to a fair understanding, the Chargers took the "we ain paying you #####" approach
They offered him a $3.3 million tender to play this year.
The highest one-year offer for a restricted free agent in NFL history, as far as I'm aware.

I don't think he's faking the injury but similar to Sidney Rice I don't think he's going to make a great effort to play unless he feels he's close to 100%. They always say there is a difference between being hurt and being injured. I think VJAX is hurt and that might be enough for him to say he's injured.

Voted yes and would like to add "good for him." Not b/c Chargers refused to pay him, b/c they refused to trade him out of spite.

 @ AJ being characterized as some malevolent overlord. He's not Lex Luthor. He's just a GM making business decisions that he thinks will best help his team over the long run.
And VJax is just doing the same thing by making a business decision that he thinks will be best for his family.Bush league move by AJ is countered by a bush league move by VJ.Reminds me of Chris Johnson getting hosed this year, Eric Moulds either faking an injury or not playing hard and getting suspended, TB WR Keenan McCardell getting suspended and TO suspended by PHILLY. The teams have all the power and it wouldn't surprise me if VJ gets suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.

well it would have been damn nice of the Chargers to disclose him hurting it in practice on Friday as its now beign reported!! Even a sniff of this qnd I would have sat him down. Guy cost me the playoffs by 2 pts when I could have put in Garcon.. Either the Charlgers skirted the rules or Jackson is faking, but if he did hurt himself on Friday- even a "limited, probable" tag shoudl have been given.
It's absolutely unconscionable that the Chargers didn't consider your fantasy team while attempting to salvage their season. Shame on them.

If he's really faking an injury to avoid playing, that seems like a very bad decision if doing what's best for his family is his goal. Risking getting found out if that's the case will probably cost him. Of course he also screwed up by not taking the original tender, so it would be par for the course of poor decisions on his/his agents' parts. If faking an injury was really on the table, do it when you're getting $3.3M, not $300K.

Just checking... Are we dropping VJax? Is his season over? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

I did. I figure he's out two weeks, and there's no way you start him in his first week back. So that really leaves Week 16, and that's assuming he does well enough in Week 15 to allay your fears. I just figured the odds of all that coming together were remote, and I'd rather shore up my bench with people who could contribute.

Nice call on 2 weeks.

(TheHuddle) San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson (groin, calf) had an MRI Monday, Nov. 29, on the calf he injured in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts, according to Andrea Kremer of NBCSports.com. Jackson is expected to miss two weeks as a result of the injury. He suffered a right calf injury in practice Friday, Nov. 26, but thought he could play through it. Jackson then reportedly overcompensated for it, suffering a groin injury as a result.

Analysis: The Friday calf injury was completely unreported by the Chargers staff, which will draw the attention of the league office. Jackson's 2010 debut lasted all of two plays, and it doesn't make much sense to keep him rostered in fantasy leagues unless you have room for a might-play-in Week-15-or-16 kind of guy. Legedu Naanee and Malcom Floyd will be the starters going forward, though we suspect Seyi Ajirotutu might displace the struggling Floyd at split end.

Hold onto him aaall year just waiting for....this. :useless:

With White holding the fort, it wouldn't have been so bad if Owens hadn't stolen ALL the thunder from Chad- and I hadn't traded Nicks for Marshall early on, who promptly turned into a pillar of salt...

I hate this game.
