Is your playoff hopes riding on tonight's game? (1 Viewer)

Most leagues playoffs start next week and there are plenty of hopes riding on tonight's game.

How many points do you need to make the post season and from whom?

I've got S.Smith going and I need 16 pts to secure a playoff spot (1/10; 6 td). I don't think 100 yds and a touch is too much to ask...

(silly thread. I know, but what the hell.)

I can win my division and win some $$$ if LJ Smith and the Phili D score less than 7 points combined. Our D/St scoring system only awards points for sacks or take-aways. I've got a slim chance. But either way I'm in the playoffs.

ETA **

Thanks to Garcia not throwing the ball to LJ Smith a single time and the Philly Defense only coming up with 2 INT's I won my division last night by 5 points! 9-4 record is the best in the league and my RB's (McGahee and Taylor) have a cake schedule. Got the 1st round bye and I'm in the money! Championship here I come!

better fix the grammer in your thread title before my fifth grade english teacher rips you a new one.

Philly D needs 12.2 points to beat me. No Defensive TDS....PLEASE.

lol

1pt per sack/int, 6 pts for td, plus perf.

Since I lost by half a point this week - I need Steve Smith and Deshaun Foster NOT to score 47 in one game OR Deangelo Williams NOT to score 23 in another... Yes, I am backing into the playoffs...

Due to Portis going down I am scrambling in one of my leagues - 12 teams Start 1 QB 3RB 4 WR 1 K 1 D - Rosters of 20.

I am up 12 points for the last playoff spot.

If one player loses this week and falls into the wildcard chase with me - I need Carolina's defense to score less than 12 points.

For him to win the game (and therefore not fall into the wildcard race - assuring me of a playoff spot) I need need R Brown and K Johnson not to outscore the Carolina D by more than 17 1/2 points (he currently has a 17 1/2 point lead).

Ideally he will lose the game AND not score more than 12 points with Carolina's D (knocking LT2 out of our playoffs...... :bye: )

This is the first year I can remember being in danger of not making the playoffs. :bag:

And I really have no idea what to root for during the game.

Caveat: I own LT and am the #1 seed in my big money league - difference picking #2 vs pick #12.

ETA oh yeah, if this team with LT wins this week he wins the division championship and a 1st round bye. That would be a tough last game of the season to watch - from out of the playoffs to a division championship. Wierd, this game. It messes with your head.

If Donte' Stallworth and John Kasay don't outscore Steve Smith, L.J. Smith and the Panthers Defense (combined) by more than 8 FPs tonight, I clinch a division and a playoff berth in FESL Bravo 2 (FBGs staffers PPR league, with me as a "News Blogger" invite). That would be a small miracle, since I've been without the services of at least Clinton Portis (no Betts handcuff), Steve Smith and/or Trent Green almost every week this season....yet still might eek out an 8-5 record. Of course, if I lose tonight, I'm basically done.

C'mon Steve, L.J. and Panthers D! A Goon's gotta represent when invited to come over from the kids' table to swim with the 800-pound sharks....... :football:

Depending on what happens tonight, I could get a first round bye and one of two very strong teams could get knocked out of the playoffs in my dynasty team. It is going to be interesting to say the least!

Is your playoff hopes riding on tonight's game?
No, but playoff positioning, division title, total points title, and some decent bucks depend on it.I figured out what I need (from either my team or other teams) in all 5 leagues, but it got too complicated to keep track of. I'm just going to get drunk and yell a lot; it'll all work out.

I simply need Brian Westbrook to score 7 fantasy points. It is a non ppr league, so he needs 70 combined yards or simply a 10 yard touchdown run/reception. I am feeling very good, and think the only thing that stops him is an inju......can't even bring myself to finish the word.

I need 4 pts out of LJ Smith. It's a .5ppr and 1/20 yds. I'd really just prefer he score a TD on the first dive, though. End it there. Then I can get drunk.

No, my team is out of the playoffs....but I can knock the biggest pain in the #### in our league out of the playoffs if I hold on tonight.

He is down by 26 with Westbrook and Trent Cole to go. Our league is touchdown heavy so unless Westbrook scores 3 tds I win.

Then, I need the guy who would take the last playoff spot to hold on to his win as well. That guy is only up 3 points with Kasay and Rucker to go...he is facing a guy that has Delhomme and Gamble.

My season sucked, but it would be sweet to knock someone out of the playoffs.

I'm up by 38.5 points and my opponent has Steve Smith and Westbrook going tonight.

if they combine for anything less than 3 touchdowns + 210 total yards?

I'M IN THE PLAYOFFS!!! :banned: :banned: :banned:

5 measley points from Delhomme in one league gets me in and less than 50 from SSmith and the CAR D gets me in in the other.

Down 5.8 points with Carolina D going tonight -- I control my own destiny in both directions -- win and I'm in the playoffs, lose and I'm out.

We've got some penalties for giving up too high of scores:

0 points allowed 10 ........... 2-6 points allowed 7

7-13 points allowed 4 ..... 14-17 points allowed 1

22-27 points allowed -1 .. 28-34 points allowed -2

35-45 points allowed -5 ..... 46+ points allowed -7

I'll be somewhat pessimistic and assume Philly ends up in the 28-34 range, putting me -2 in the hole. So something like 4 sacks (at 1 pt apiece), and 2 turnovers (at 2 pts apiece) would give me the win. Or even better, an interception/fumble return for a TD seals it all at once. Though I wouldn't complain about a kickoff or punt return TD.

I need a TD and 40+ yards from Steve Smith.

140+ yards and no score would work as well, but a early TD would really ease my mind.

Good comments all. I deserved all of the corrections, scorn, and even the "########" comment (although technically speaking "#####" and "bag" should be separate words).

Steve Smith can have no more than 139 yards and no more than 5 receptions and I will be a happy camper. Or a 129 yards and no more than 6 receptions. Or a 119 yard night and no more than 7 receptions. Or...you get the picture.

Need Westrbrook to just be Westbrook - 120 total yards is fine with me.

3 division championships ride on this game - a whole season comes down to this.

I simply need Brian Westbrook to score710fantasy points. It is a non ppr league, so he needs 70 100 combined yards or simply a 10 40 yard touchdown run/reception. I am feeling very good, and think the only thing that stops him is an inju......can't even bring myself to finish the word.
fixed!

I'm up 22 and all I have left to face is L.J. Smith right now. Thats about 100 yards receiving and 2 TDs. If I win, I'm in. I lose and I'm out. It's looking good, but stranger things have happened.

:pickle: :pickle: :pickle: - I was in a pickle, but after the game - I am Division winner in three separate leagues :D Thank you Steve Smith for keeping yourself under 13 fantasy points. And major thanks to Brian (I'm always on the injury report) Westbrook - you da man!!
