Its official, Greg Jones is a fullback! (1 Viewer)

I don't necessarily know whether he'll be the goal-line back or not, but why does his being listed as a fullback eliminate the possibility. Fullbacks have never been given the ball at the goal line?

Mike Alstott is also a fullback and he's in the fantasy hall of fame, just sayin.
Yeah, I know. The reason Greg Jones won't be the goal line back is that MJD is over twice as effective as him inside the 10 yard line.I'm Greg Jones will get the stray goal line carry on a misdirection play, but that isn't going to be taking away from MJD.

I dont think MJD owners should be worried, since he converted 6 out of 10 times inside the 5 last year, but you never know...

Not typically. It is not typical for a FB to be a teams goal line back. It has happened before, but not when the team has a half back that is twice the goal line runner than the full back is.

Why change something that isn't broken?

MJD will get those carries barring something major happening soon. Jones is coming off an ACL tear and, while he has shown cutting ability, the coaching staff will probably ease him along to allow him to heal fully. I'm really not sure what his role in the offense will be besides to spell Jones-Drew and Taylor, but he is one hell of a player.
