It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1 Viewer)

Have they ever tried a live version of this?

With all the movies that are being made recycled from old tv shows, comics, etc... I wonder if anyone ever tried to get this done, or if it ever will...

I always thought it was ironic that Schultz insisted that characters read from the Bible in the Christmas episode, yet allowed the Halloween episode to be based around a pagan character.

what is the difference between belief in the Great Pumpkin and belief in a God?
Let's not go there.
:tinfoilhat: Those Great Pumpkin worshippers are kooks!
I meant more that we should discuss important stuff, like Linus's killer envelope shot into that tall mailbox.

Last night my 10 year old said it sounded like the characters were reading out of a book. Very observant.
Tough audience. On the parent note, I always wondered why they never showed any parents on the show. Must be another Schulz quirk.
Also a question my daughter asked.
No teachers either except for their voices going "wah wah wah".
Similar sounds I hear sometimes when my wife speaks.

Doesn't the grandmother talk on the Thanksgiving episode or does Charley Brown just repeat what she says to him on the phone?

I think she has the same wah-wah voice as the teacher. He just repeats it for our benefit.

Annual airing is tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) at 8PM on ABC. :moneybag:

Does anybody remember they used to always play Dolly Madison Zinger commercials during all the Charlie Browns specials? They would never show one for the raspberry one, though.

Great call. Time to introduce the boy to some greatness. :lmao:
;) We have the DVD and watched it over the weekend. How's he doing?

Any cute stories about the li'l tyke?
Awesome. Thanks for asking. He laughed for the first time on Sunday. It was heart-melting. Check the "Cutest FFA Kids" thread for some pics of him in his pumpkin costume in the next few days.
:cry:It goes too fast.

I've read a lot of the Schulz biography. For as funny as the shows/comics were, the reading of his bio is miserable, and utterly ruined the joy of the shows and comics. Don't do it. It's still a great bio, it just belongs in the depression thread. Wow. Bleak, cold Midwesternism. When I found out about Lucy and Peggy Fleming, I just sort of stopped reading it.

No fun. Snoopy and Woodstock and Linus saved Peanuts for me, in retrospect.
