although i agree it is the RB, TE and the defense along with the playcalling.
let's face it, this team will not make a run at anything other than a lower draft pick with Plummer throwing balls behind WRs. Case in point, the Stephen Alexander INT. Yes, Alexander tipped it to cause the interception. Now most people will say, "Oh it was a tipped ball, not Plummer's fault." But the sad reality it is Plummer's fault , where was that ball thrown to. It was a good 1.5 yards behind Alexander. In the 4th quarter, when he rolled out and threw 20 yards to Stephen Alexander, where was the ball, short and to the right off our TV screens. Anybody that has watched all the games that Plummer has played this season and they will agree with me when I say that at least 50% of his completions have been the WRs adjusting themselves for the ball. Overthrows I can understand, underthrowing and missing targets are not acceptable as Broncos fans.
It's a pretty sad day when you miss Brian Griese, let alone miss Elway.
so with all of that said, if the Broncos realize that Plummer is not going to lead them anywhere this year, why not try it with Cutler. That gives him 5 games of live snaps this year along with maybe a playoff game to get some experience for next year.
the way I see it, if you leave Plummer in, this is a lost season. With Cutler coming in next year, it's probably a lost season again unless he pulls a Rothlesberger. If you play him now, you see what you got in Cutler in live game action, work with him in the offseason, design plays to his strengths, work on his weaknesses and have him come out firing in 2007.
I don't know if I'm right or wrong, but just one broncos fans opinion.
