Jacksonville WRs - SOS (1 Viewer)

If you utilize SOS as a way to see what players are going to be in a position to succeed, then this post is for you. While looking over the SOS charts today, I noticed that the Jacksonville WR SOS over the next 6 or 7 match-ups in a row seem pretty good. And, based off of all the discussion that the "Start David Garrard this week" topic has received, who do we think will receive all the WR love based on Garrard's good match-up this week? AND, who will get all the love over the next several weeks? If you haven't already, or did but dropped, is now the opportune time to grab Sims-Walker or Williamson, ride and then sell-high? If so, which one?

The only one who'd have any value is Sims-Walker and it is a longshot he stays healthy. Holt seems finished - he will get you 40 or 50 yards a week and might get a few TDs, but has no upside at this point. Williamson you are hoping for a long TD in an offense that can't seem to muster those sort of passing plays.

Based on 1 game? I can't remember Jacksonville having a legitimate deep threat the past few years and Williamson looked good this preseason. I think it's too early to tell how effective the downfield passing is going to be. I can see JAx opening it up with some play action passes, though.

I have to believe that they get Sims-Walker more involved. In the last pre-season game he showed well and then in the 1st game of the season he was only on the field a few times. I think he has the skills to be the #1 on that team. Yes he is brittle, but when he is on the field he plays well. Does he ever put it ALL together? With all the discussion about other guys like Chaz, Nanee, etc., doesn't Sims-Walker have the similar measurables and abilities on the field? Or is it that Jacksonville just blows and no WR on their team is worth anything outside of a flyer or WR3 (Holt)?

Again, who will be the #1 in 2010?

I knew Jax had a great SOS this season. Matt Jones put up some really nice numbers last year on that team as the #1, and this year the schedule is better.

I purposely drafted - cheaply - Holt and Sims-Walker in several high stakes leagues with the purpose on trying to get whoever the #1 WR is on that team. I'm not a believer in Holt, as his knees have led to his loss of speed. I'm not a Williamson believer, as he has always underperformed and preseason tells me nothing. I thus am guessing that Sims-Walker, as the most talented guy left, will be the "man". But with both Holt and Walker, I feel covered in getting the best WR.

This week will be VERY telling for Jax and its passing offense. I expected a dud last week, as Indy's pass defense has been good the last few years. If Jax duds again this week, that is a very bad sign.

Great post.

I drafted Garrard in all of my redrafts and after last week and I am among the few that believes he has to sit until he shows us something. Historically, IIRC, Garrard has good games against Indy, not this time. He has a young O-line that has to step up and give him the few needed seconds to get the ball to his receivers. Arizona should be a good test for this offense.

I have Sims-Walker and Williamson on my dynasty and really hope Garrard comes around because until he does the WR core in Jacksonville will have next to no value. No reason this offense shouldn't excel. What better RB to keep defenses honest then MJD? So I think it all stems from Garrards play, I like Sims-Walker, he has a lot of tallent and his time is now to show something.

I do like the SOS tool but it is just one of many.
