Jacobs vs. Landry (1 Viewer)

In the immortal words of wisdom from none other than Mike Tyson (following a fight w/ Donovan "Razor" Ruddock), "He hits like a ####### mule kick."

Landry was looking like he was having a seizure upon impact to ground.

Truck stick. I don't think we'll see a better one this season.

I bet Sean Taylor would've had something for Jacobs if he were still around.
6' 5" and 265 pounds of freakish brute mule coming downhill? I think Taylor woulda been waxed just the same IF he tried to tackle. Maybe if he had gone for the ankles... But you aint gonna MAKE a hit on a steam roller like that.

I think the best part is when he steps on his chest after slamming his head off the turf. But that's just me. :D

Wish I would have drafted that bad ### in at least one of my leagues.

missed out.

At first, I watched Jacobs during the play. But, when you watch this gif, just watch Landry from the beginning. He was seriously going in as if he was going to make a tackle and got absolutely blown up. I don't think he will EVER try that again.

It must just suck being a DB and seeing that guy break out into the open field with a full head of steam.

By the fourth quarter they probably want nothing to do with the guy.

The best part was that Landry did the right thing and tried to go low on him. Jacobs just dropped his pads and took him on just as low. If he can keep doing that, he's going to have a very nice year.

Bad, Bad Man.

Landry missed the entire preseason due to hamstring injuries, so this was his proverbial "1st contact" to get him back into the swing of things. :bag:And yeah, I think the lesson was learned.Jacobs is a bull. He reminds me most of Mike Sellers who's done that very sort of thing to Brian Dawkins a couple of times, among others, but Jacobs is even quicker and more athletic than Sellers. Anyone saying a safety giving up 50-60 lbs. and going in to make the tackle (however ineptly) at full speed lacks balls might want to reconsider what they're talking about, however.

I just wonder how many safeties around the league will think twice after seeing that play. One has to think that somewhere in their mind, if they have to try and take down Jacobs in a future game in a similar fashion as Landry, we might see some hesitation to stick in there for the tackle and just try to go with a leg tackle, at which point Jacobs breaks off an extra 20-30 yds from stiff arming the Safety into the ground.

This was a huge collision but Portis's chip block was the best hit of the night. Anyone with a link to that???
 You've got to be kidding, hitting someone when they're not looking is one thing but destroying someone that is trying to hit you is another.
Well to each their own. If Jacobs and Landry are meeting at full speed you would expect the bigger guy to win. Portis the much smaller guy as opposed to the DE won in a huge way. Portis' hit was at the very worst equally as nice. I mean he really decleated him. Does anyone have the clip somewhere ????

It was a great chip block, but he was helped in no small part by that Chris Samuels guy.

So you think knocking an off-balance guy onto his back is as impressive as knocking someone coming full steam at you, 3 yards backwards onto his back? Portis's chip block was nasty, but not even in the same ballpark as Jacob's truck stick.

While Portis may have laid Kiwanuka on his back rather nicely, this still does not compare to MJD completely knocking "Lights Out" Merriman down all by himself last year. THAT was a thing of beauty.

Let's see if Landry brushes it off unlike the last guy I can remember getting publicly blown up like that, Bosworth.
