Jacoby Jones.... (1 Viewer)

Jacoby is still on our waiver wire. Is AJ's injury just the break he needs to grab a startig spot and never look back? Of all the usual suspects on the weekly waiver wire (the many Williams's, B. Jones, the ATL receivers, Booker, etc.) Jacoby seems to have the best chance to be this year's Colsten. He's plays on an offense that is firing on all cylinders right now and a QB who can get it down field and take advantage of his skills. Yes, it's a long shot, but is there a chance that Jacoby's time has arrived?

I grabbed him in both the redraft leagues I care about.

But I really dont expect much, AJ isnt hurt that bad and I expect him back in 2 weeks.

If Jacoby shows me something I might play him in week 4, if AJ is out

All it takes is a game or two my friend. If he puts up numbers, he's going to be hard to keep off the field (especially competing with Walters at the WR2 spot). Yes it's a long shot, but to me he has the highest upside of the usual waiver wire fodder. If you've got room on your roster, why not take the chance for a couple of weeks?

I did grab him???? :goodposting: Im not starting him though

Without AJ I expect the Texans whole offense to take a hit. Jones will get more looks than usual but I wouldn't expect him to be a starter in any leagues. Jones' job is pretty secure I think. Him and Walter are kind of 2a/2b and I don't really think AJ's injury is going to change that except while he's out.

I think Owen Daniels benefits from AJ's absence most.

Sorry...I understood you grabbed him in your original post. I was just making the comment in general.

It seems to me that Shaub and the Texans have been pretty successful throwing the medium deep ball over the middle to AJ and letitng him create in space. I'm not sure the team would abandon those plays immediately just because AJ is out. It might be that Jacoby gets his number called to run those particular WR#1 routes while AJ is on the shelf. If he connects on a few, perhaps Jacoby wins himself a starting gig opposite AJ.

Might see a slight increase in production from Jones, but I expect Owen Daniels to be the main beneficiary, if AJ can't go..

Might be, but do you think the Texans completely eliminate those successful deeper routes they've been scoring with the past 2 weeks? I've got to believe they'll keep those play in the gameplan. I've also got to believe they'll call Jacoby's number a few times to fill AJ's spot on those plays.
