**Jaguars at Texans**(+1, 37.5) 1:00 (2 Viewers)

Davis Mills blah blah blah…terrible Texans OL blah blah blah…Vegas offers you a point to pick the Jags on the road and LTAO all the way to the bank

I see this being a bit of a defensive struggle. I'm not sure Mills is THAT big of a downgrade from Stroud.

I think the Jags offense in particular struggles. No Thomas, no Hunter, and an OL that is gonna have Lawrence running for his life against Anderson/Hunter and co. I do think this is a game that if the Jags win, its because Lawrence did a ton on the ground.

For the Texans, I actually think the pass game will be fine. I mean, I expect Hines-Allen and Walker to get to Mills, but I think Texans guys will be open. I like a Nico Collins week here, and kinda like Dalton Schultz as a bet for a lot of PPR checkdown goodness.

Texans-21
Jaguars-14

O.K. this game will be The Field Goal Game of the Week
The Visitors defense will have to keep up with The Home Team's defense
Both offenses will struggle
But The Home Team's offense will do a little bit more
so...

Homies- 19

Visitors- 9

First game between these two was really ugly offensively for both sides until the 4th quarter. JAX defense has massively cooled off on creating turnovers which was the difference in that 1st game. Both teams are heavily injured, Houston is missing both their starting RT & RG who were playing well (Center and LG are the two main weak points) and their kicker! No idea what to expect, Mills actually has won a few against JAX in the past but those were much worse Jags teams.

Unless one of the defenses really takes over the game with some turnovers or defensive scores I imagine JAX probably pulls it out as their offense should be more functional despite its injuries at WR than the Texans.

Can Jakobi Meyers do anything to help this sinking ship? I'd like to think so (owner).
I'm leaning no though.
With a new receiver probably taking a healthy number of snaps, you’d hope they’d simplify the offense, thereby cutting down on the massive number of pre-snap penalties called on the Jags

Jags last swept the Texans in 2017, the year they made it to the AFCCG.

Since that time, Jags are 3-12 straight up, including 3-9 straight up as favorites

Who tf is Sow? God he's horrible too...

Now Scruggs has moved over there to RG, Patterson at LG. Still looks like garbage.

Fisher in as a 6th lineman TE. Promptly holds.

@Major I'm with you about hating this team. Every time this franchise looks like they're making progress they crash back to earth with another season that looks just like this.

Patriots 4th rounder in '23, he started for them his rookie year but was a backup after that and cut in preseason and then picked up as a practice squad guy for us.

I had to google him lol

Doesn't matter. They all suck. Guards are horrible, center is horrible, tackles are horrible. Coaching is beyond horrible.

This team looks lifeless.

Watching on multi-view; interesting to hear the announcers defend the flag on the sack on Lamar Jackson when it's as clean as it can possibly be other than he landed on him via his body weight, vs JJ Watt trying to argue it's hard to play defense and it really shouldn't be a flag when the sack on Mills is clearly helmet to helmet.

Gosh darn. If you like the back don't have him returning kicks.

There goes my late-season hope. Shuke this.

eta* I'm leaving this for posterity and to remind me of how foul I can be. Heh. But really, if you've got a guy you like; don't have him returning kicks. Get a WR from the practice squad. They live for that ish.

eta2* Let's go get a ****in' snack!

Mills, why are you holding the ball and running out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage with a handful of seconds left? Throw it away and at least save a few seconds

Halftime guys - "Jax really getting after the QB and getting 2 sacks - way for the defense to step-up!" Houston's missing the entire right side of the line and the second sack was MIlls running out of bounds via the David Carr special

Tuten back out there for the start of the 2nd half kickoff return

Yep. Thank you for the note. I did know, but I appreciate it.

And I did edit it. Couldn't leave that.

Elite defenses don't miss so many damn tackles. You can give me all the stats you want but this D is not elite. Above average at best.

edit: and giving up 30 points to JAX with a quarter to go is definitely not elite.
