Blackmon and Laurent Robinson are both available late in drafts yet everyone seems to be steering clear of them because of Gabbert and Blackmon's possible suspension.

If you could draft one which would you take and why?

I would draft Robinson 1st. I wouldn't pick him until at least round 10 but I'd still choose him over Blackmon. Rookies often struggle and Black,on isn't even in camp yet. On top of that I've felt Backmon was an overrated prospect for a long time now.

I don't expect much from either guy but I do think Robinson will be the teams WR1 and that in itself carries some Merritt, regardless of how piss poor Jack is. I drafted Robinson in the Anarchy league and would be happy with a season total of 50/600/4.

Robinson has had a bad camp so far between dropping passes and a head injury. Gabbert's also had a rough camp, struggling with accuracy. Meanwhile Blackmon is holding out.

They're on my 'do not touch' list.

Mularkey came out and said that Laurent Robinson is improving after a bad start. The head injury is a non-issue, he missed one practice as a precaution and they said that he didn't have a concussion.Gabbert had a good scrimmage with a high completion pct.All that being said, it's too early to draw any conclusions. Right now LRobinson appears to be the favored WR especially with Mike Thomas having a terrible camp. I think jurb's prognosis is pretty spot on though.

Redraft I like Robinson at his ADP, dynasty I like Blackmon long term because Gabbert will figure it out or they will get someone else in there.

Cecil Shorts is the player to take a late round flyer on if you can stash him on your bench. Pierre Garcon II.

I'd be happy to take a flyer on Blackmon late. I don't expect much production, but he has the talent to make an impact, especially if Gabbert makes significant strides. I have always liked Robinson, but he's a journeyman who capitalized on a flukish season against soft coverage. I don't see him as a long-term #1.

Blackmon really impressed me in college. He looked like a man against boys every time I saw him play. He gets a lot of flak around here, but he was a top 5 overall draft pick and the Jags actually traded up to get him, which usually means someone else in that range was targeting him as well. Really nice prospect with the right combination of size and mobility to be a true #1 target. I think he can be something like Bowe/Boldin. It's just a matter of how quickly he can adjust to the pro game and whether or not his quarterbacks can get him the ball.
