The Panthers seem to surge in the second half of the season in recent years and with the poor running game in Carolina, do you think Delhomme could post a solid second half of this season? He looked great in the second half of last night's game.

As long as Steve Smith is in Carolina, Delhomme will be a pretty solid fantasy qb.

Tough to say the Panthers have a poor running game, they never stick to it long enough during the course of the game.

That being said, the Panthers have SSMith, Keyshawn and are now implementing Hoover out of the backfield as a receiver, so they now have three threats and more improtantly, are converting on third downs to keep drives alive.

Carolina will begin to mirror Philadelphia in terms of pass/run ratio and really air it out the second half. Long story short, Delhomme is easily a top 3 QB the rest of the season.

He'll be good but I think top 3 is a little ambitious. He does still have to contend with the likes of Manning 1 and 2, Palmer, Bulger, and McNabb just to name a few.

Carolina ranks 30th in rush attempts per gameThey rank #11 in passing attempts, a tiny .2 attempts per game behind Philly. It's all passing, all the time in Charlotte this year.

Top 3? Are you friggin kidding me? Maybe top 10, and even that's a stretch. Let me list some other QB's to have rather than Delhomme for the second half:1. P.Manning2. E.Manning3. T.Brady (awesome looking playoff schedule)4. D.Brees (guys is lights out right now)5. D. McNabb6. Palmer (Too many weapons)7. John Kitna (another guy who is on fire)8. Tony Romo (yea, I know he's on my fantasy team, but if you have not watched him yet, this guy is the real deal and has weapons like TO, Glenn, Witten, Jones, and Barber III)I'd rather have any of these other players before Jake. P.S. I'm a Panther Homer

1. P.Manning - Addai/Rhodes

2. E.Manning - Barber/Jacobs

3. T.Brady (awesome looking playoff schedule) - Dillon/Maroney

4. D.Brees (guys is lights out right now) - Deuce/Bush

5. D. McNabb - Westbrook/C-Buck

6. Palmer (Too many weapons) - Rudi

7. John Kitna (another guy who is on fire) - K.Jones

All of those teams have RB's, Carolinaa has none. They can't run, so they do it just enough to pretend they might actually hand off for a play or two, numbers don't lie. #30 in rush attempts. When the weather gets cold, every QB listed will have the ability to hand off. Carolina does not. Therefore, they'll keep on chucking it around the yard.

Having a running game actually helps these teams and QB's. Without a RB (like Carolina) teams are just going to sit in zone all day or blitz. Have you seen some of the decisions Jake has been making lately? Better yet, what about some of the drops by Key and Smiff? I'm not hating, but this is not the same Panther team we've seen the past couple of years.

I'm surprised by this thread. What has changed that will suddenly make Delhomme a solid fantasy QB? His running game was just as bad the last 9 games as it will be the next 7. Smith has been healthy for a while now and Keyshawn has been there all year. To my mind, it's the loss of his LT (and other OL?) that has hurt him the most this year and that hasn't changed either as far as I know.

What am I missing?
