It's amazing. I watched that game and saw some of the worst passes I have ever seen. If they had a 2nd tier QB, they likely make it to the SB last year. I would get on the phone and call Jeff Garcia ASAP.

He stinks but "kill the bum" is a bit extreme.

If you select this option it most likely means you drafted him and if that is the case you have no one to blame but yourself.

I had Steve a couple of years ago when Delhomme was hurt and the Panthers sucked. If this week is any indication of the future of this year I am going to be pissed. I went strong on WR's Smith, Fitz, Wayne but still I live in Carolina and I can't stand them. They better get it together next week and for the season. Philly is clearly a superior team compared to the Panthers.

The Panthers announced they have agreed to extend the contract of quarterback Jake Delhomme, which secures their long-term commitment to him at the all-important position and also provides some salary-cap relief. Delhomme was in the final year of his contract and was scheduled to count more than $11 million against the cap, but now has a new five-year deal that agent Rick Smith said is worth $42.5 million with $20 million in guarantees. Smith said the contract's structure was "extremely complicated" but will save the Panthers at least a couple million in 2009 cap space.

 Oops.

Apparently you have never heard of David Carr. The absolute worst multi-year starting QB in the history of the NFL.

It's funny cuz when I picked him in my fantasy draft as a lottery ticket QB3 in a late-round I actually announced him as probably my first cut.

Turns out I will be right.

I can't stand the guy. IMO it couldn't have happened to a more deserving, annoying player. I draw much enjoyment from every turnover and sideline pout.

Jake is one of the nicest guys in the league. I felt bad for him today.

:goodposting: It seems that whoever replaces him looks like a superstar, or at the very least, boosts the entire offense.

if it was me i'd bench him for GOOD, only problem is panthers having nothing at QB2-3 worth starting over jake. he is a bum

being nice doesn't win football games!

Delhomme has not been bad over the course of his career. Clearly his last 2 games have been absolutely terrible. And his arm never recovered fully from surgery. But he has been a solid player for that team, playing within the system and keeping his team in games. Every season as a starter, his QB rating has been above 80.

He is in the twilight of his career. And perhaps he is no longer able to start. But to say he has been a bum is pretty stupid. More and more people are confusing fantasy play and real NFL.
