Hardy excelled in college because he's a physical freak, but he didn't have to run NFL routes or deal w/ press coverage. He showed some flashes early in his rookie year, but played sparingly because he couldn't learn the playbook. He ran the wrong route on numerous occasions & blew plenty of assignments. He became basically a goal-line & short yardage package specialist. He then tore his ACL & missed the rest of the season.
He started year 2 on the PUP list. The presence of TO kept Hardy from playing any significant role after he was eligible to play. He supposedly became TO's protege during camp & throughout the season. Hopefully he learned a lot about playing WR at the NFL level. I'd give Hardy the best chance of winning the WR2 job this year, as Steve Johnson is better suited for the Slot WR spot.
