1) How do you know they didn't try to get Lynch? From what I read, they did.2) Julius Jones? Seriously?

Im sure they like him and want that option...but, will a guy who has not played since 2008, never stepped foot on an NFL field, is a late round rookie be starting and in charge of helping to protect Aaron Rodgers against the Minnesota Vikings? Not a freaking chance.

Because Ted Thompson is cheap.

Because he sucks - maybe even more than Brandon Jackson.

No. He hasn't played football since 2008. He's not even guaranteed to be on the roster after coming off PUP. The Packers will have three weeks to take a look at him and if they don't like what they see he could be placed on IR.If you're going to go prospecting in the Packers' backfield, Nance is probably the one to look at but despite all the warm and fuzzy comments about him lately he's still not getting on the field. I think it will be the Jackson/Kuhn show barring an injury to one of them.

:) And their remaining schedule doesn't get a whole lot easier after that:
7 Sun, Oct 24 vsMinnesota 8 Sun, Oct 31 @New York 9 Sun, Nov 7 vsDallas 10 BYE WEEK 11 Sun, Nov 21 @Minnesota 12 Sun, Nov 28 @Atlanta 13 Sun, Dec 5 vsSan Francisco 14 Sun, Dec 12 @Detroit 15 Sun, Dec 19 @New England 16 Sun, Dec 26 vsNew York 17 Sun, Jan 2 vsChicago

I think the odds are slim of Starks contributing in any meaningful way this season. He's just been out of football too long.

i think the packers think they know something about starks, but mccarthy also thinks he knows how to manage a game.

a few scouts seemed to be pretty high on starks as a sleeper.
