Very simple, sure the game had a lot of plays that were questionable but none more bizarre than at the end of the game when after Romo spiked the ball, they had Jason Witten in to block on 3rd down and then again 4th down...did I miss a memo where Witten was delcared NOT the best receiver in Dallas? Surely it isn't Sam Hurd, Patty Crayton, or even Roy Williams who if you needed someone to block, Roy wouldn't be a bad choice. I mean this is not about FF, but if I was coaching Jason Witten and I have :09 left, 2 downs, 2 shots, 2 chances to tie the football game, you can be GD sure I make a point to dial up Witten. I would even line him up at WR and let Martellus Bennett stay in to block as a TE.

I know Witten is a great blocker but you have to give your playmaker a chance to win the game or tie it up and go to overtime, insane!!!

To make it worse, Bennett wasnt even in the game. The guy was a talented enough power forward coming out of high school to declare for the NBA draft. Think maybe he might be useful in the redzone?

Appalling. But so many facets of that game were.

IIRC Williams was out with an injury.

I don't think Williams is a very good blocker anyways.

He is a better blocker than receiver.

100% agree on not having Witten in a route there. There are 2 other serviceable TEs on the roster that could have been in to help with protection. On top of that, we throw BACK TO BACK slant patterns to Hurd who is being covered by Champ Bailey. Horrible Horrible decision making all the way around.

The same Hurd who has ONE reception going into this game...Not to mention the 60 Billion dollar offensive line that should be blocking...

Hurd coulda gotten OB twice to save TO's and Romo 1) wouldnt have had to waste a down downing the ball 2) nor would they have had to rush and 3) they coulda mixed in a run, so not all the coaches fault

but i agree testing Bailey didn't work out to well

It's apparent that somehow TO is still the reason why ROMO SUCKS! HAHAHA :goodposting:

The Dallas WRs leave a lot to be desired and Romo has not been accurate.

The DEF is undisciplined and the secondary is weak.

NYG

PHILLY

DALLAS

WASHINGTON

I agree that this should happen but it has a lot more to do with the frame of reference we have of them rather than what happenend today. BTW, most are fooling themselves if they still think Denver is operating on luck. Mike Nolan is a hell of a defensive coordinator.

I saw that to, I'm sure Nolan was very happy to let the game ride on Hurd vs Champ Bailey, talk about a mis-match.

I need to watch the play again, but it sure looked like Hurd would have scored on the Romo scramble play if he had another gear...Anyway horrible play calling and not any better decision making by the QB not to look in another direction.

Dallas offense was missing their biggest playmaker today and it showed. They don't have any play makers on that team outside of Felix.

I see what you are saying.. however Witten is a play maker and they should have been trying to get him the ball as it was thier best bet.I didn't see the game however and Denver may have been doing things on defense that caused them to go away from Witten.

Horrible all around. Terrible play calling, AGAIN around the 2yrd line. Romo started eye-balling Hurd when the play was called and probably is still looking at him. Romo was way off tonight, to put it lightly. I spend a lot of time defending Romo to, but bad game #2 and counting. Witten should be target #1 on every green zone play. Bennett should be #2. Post him up like Gates did.

They probably wanted to keep Elvis Dumervill from killing Romo. Still, down on the goal where they should be looking to pass quickly you'd think Witten would be in the pattern.I can't blame the coaches for the pointless short completion in the middle that made them waste second down on a spike. That was all Romo.

Jones has just about frittered away his chances for a Super Bowl with this roster by keeping Phillips around.

it will be hard to get a quality coach, Holmgren or Shanny for instance, to take the job there with Jones insistent meddling. I consider it Al Davis/Daniel Snyder "lite".
