May 12 Hal McCoy, of the Dayton Daily News, reports Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker said OF Jay Bruce will be recalled soon.

He shot through the system by the age of 21 and by many accounts is the best prospect not currently in the majors.

Bruce should be rostered in all leagues at this point. If he's not make a claim, he's the kind of player that could have immediate impact.

I'll drop a guy like Kearns for Bruce for sure. Players like Pence and Tulo have helped win titles at their young ages, no reason Bruce can't burst onto the scene.

Dropped Bourn, Bruce should be a solid contributor for HR's, SB's, and either R's or RBI's depending where he bats in the lineup. Expect an inconsistent and nothing special avg though.

Possibly. A week to week rotation may be it unless wuss boy can get it together. Since we put our lineups in weekly, I have Aybar for the week and assuming Kendrick will need at least one more, Ill have to figure something out by week's end.

Will keep my eye out in case there is someone worth dropping, but its either drop Smoltz (no way), Gagne, Bonderman (hoping he will snap out of it) or Fred Lewis, who has been solid of late.

Dude is batting like .650 the past 10 days or so, and leading the league in hitting. I don't think there is much more that needs to be proved in the minors for Jay Bruce.

The fact that Hairston and Patterson are seeing regular playing time is really kind of sad if you're a Reds fan.

The problem is is that he's a natural RF...he CAN play CF, but he's the future of the Reds at RF. And Griffey is NOT going to Seattle. They aren't taking him back. And until Jr. hits #600, Jay Bruce won't be called up because once he is called up, he will play every day.

So you're looking at June at the earliest. But once he's up, he'll never see the minors again.

He played center last year after the Astros couldn't leave him in AAA any longer waiting and the dude goes out and has an awesome year.Lance Berkman is a natural 1bman. However, he played the OF for a few years while Bagwell was at 1st. Guy seemed to do pretty well playing out of his natural position.And I know Patterson had two assists last night....BUT he butchered the first ball out there, and the second assist was poor base running by Ramirez. Patterson is not exactly going to be confused with a gold glover out there in center. He is their leadoff hitter with a .282 OBP. :XThere is always a hesitation to not rush a guy to the majors....but when there's nothing left to prove, sometimes you have to get him up there and field the team with your best shot of winning

Bonderman may have been the right call, but my starting pitching is a question mark with smoltz going to the pen.We only have two bench spots, so I cant take out Lewis because I wouldnt have someone to play there until June or whenever Bruce finally gets up here. Eddie pretty well covered it here. He won't be called up until they move one of their corner outfielders. Griffey nor Dunn is likely to be traded until they start hitting better (they're killing us right now). Patterson's obviously got some nudie pictures of Dusty and Castellini (although I have to give him props for his play in this Marlins series), and Hairston's now our starting SS.

I'm far from a Patterson apologist, but that second assist was more than just bad baserunning on Ramirez's part.

I've cut him from one of my teams too, he's a headcase right now, will he fix it? I don't know, probably, but I don't know when and my team's already destroyed WHIP doesn't want to wait and find out when that will be.But is he finished? Absolutely not. His stuff is still electric. Watching him pitch as a Tigers homer is ulcer enducing. He'll break someone's knee caps with a nasty breaking ball inside and then follow it up with a well located fastball on the outside corner at the knees, the problem arises when that ball is smacked for a weak opposite field single. That's when the basketcase enters, the one that falls behind in counts and can't locate anything. If he's ever able to get his head on straight he will be a solid pitcher, both in real life and fantasy, at worst a solid #2. I just hope when that happens he's still a Tiger.

Unfortunately, no. We have weekly lineups, so right now I have Howie and no one else. Aybar is in there for the week but I dropped him to pick up Bruce, then dropped Bruce when someone dropped Gagne. And much as Gagne sucks, the guy still is their closer, has a decent chance to rack up a bunch of saves and I need saves a lot more than I need offense (especially since I just got Rollins back).All this, plus Im a noob so I expect to make some stupid decisions along the way.
