There seemed to be a lot of support in here not too long ago for this replacement level hurler and I was blasted for calling him not roster worthy. That support has been quite mute recently...wonder why...

Because he's off to a terrible start. Still doesn't explain why a guy who put up very good stats last year is considered unrosterable in the first two weeks of the year. When you make outrageous claims, sometimes you'll be right. You can be in my league ANYtime.

I don't know what your definition of very good is but Jeff Francis' line from last year...4.22 era 1.38 whip 6.9 k/9...and the year before that...4.16 era 1.29 whip 5.3 k/9...will not get it done in a standard 12 team league. If you think that is "very good" then I want you in my league, that's not very good, that's average at best. In order to finish in the top 4 in the era, whip, and k cat's (based on my experience) you need roughly a3.70 era 1.23 whip 7.5 k/9 (1350 IP limit)Francis does not help in any of these cat's. If you want to go sabermetric, Francis' BAA raised from 06 to 07...significantly...and it wasn't because of "bad luck" either, his HR rate and LD% increased while his GB% remained unchanged.Oh, and while you were starting Francis today, I had Jesse Litsch going...I think he had a better day than Francis, correct me if I'm wrong though. As I said in the thread in which you were one of the many to be blasting me I'll stream my guys, you play Francis, I'll finish on the better end when all is said and done. And I believe Doug Davis (who I dropped Litsch for today) will have a better game this week against San Fran than Francis will against whoever he plays.I would have made this claim before the season started as well, hell I may have and you just didn't see it, I know my opinion was the same. Outrageous claim? I call it doing my homework.
