Jeremiah Johnson vs Kareem Huggins (1 Viewer)

Which back would you roster for the future. I really like what ive seen out of both backs this preseason. I think Huggins has a quicker and better chance to play because of Caddys injury history and Ward not being much of a factor. Slaton seems to stay in the doghouse in Houston and isnt an everydown back anyway imo so Johnson has some potential there. That being said i dont think either will do much this year but would like to roster 1 of the 2 for next year. Just curious as to your thoughts on these 2 backs.

Huggins for 2011, for exactly the reason you've pointed out -- a quicker potential path to the starting job. Caddy has guts all day, but his body's worn. Arian Foster is a lot younger and fresher ... more likely to stay on the field.

Watch the Cowboys/Texans game. Johnson looked slow and ran in a very upright style. Doesnt look like star material and/or that he is in Huggins' league as a back.

looks like huggins at this point, with ward cut his path should be easier...plus he has looked somewhat better than j johnson....

Huggins, Caddy will never hold up to 25 carries a game. Huggie is money in the bank. The 2010 verision of the 2009 verision J. Charles.

Foster, Slaton, and Tate will all be in the mix in 2011, severely limiting anything Johnson can do.

I don't have any facts to support my opinion about this other than a horrible 2009 and nothing good/only bad getting reported on Slaton in this years camp. Just seems he (Slaton) may end up a one year wonder and I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't in the mix next year, but to your point, Foster and Tate will be, so Johnson doesn't seem to have much going for him on the always important opportunity side of any legit FF analysis.Huggins on the other hand does have decent potential for getting an opportunity, which makes him the better spec pick.

Both of these guys are severely overrated. Caddy looked very impressive last season, but if he was to get hurt it would be a timeshare with graham and huggins. The coaching staff has been raving about Foster all offseason, even while Tate was healthy. But assuming he did get hurt, slaton would probably get the first crack at the gig. In any event, you would be better served to take a flier on a player like Christopher Ivory who is in a much more explosive offense, and has a clearer path to fantasy pointdom.
