Jermaine Kearse WR Seattle. (1 Viewer)

It makes sense that the Bears will consider any decent wideout, but is Kearse really much of an improvement for them?  What are expectations for him if he landed in Chicago?

No sure he is much of an improvement and I guess it would depend on how they feel about White. The team needs somebody to catch the ball though. Not sure what Kearses contract is but I remember thinking they paid a little too much at the time. Either way he is a warm body which Chicago could use at that position right now.

Jets trading DL Sheldon Richardson to Seattle for WR Jermaine Kearse and draft considerations, per source.

Jalin Marshall is suspended the first few games. He also looks like a slot WR to me. The Jets have an open spot for Kearse

Opportunity if not talent

A four year old two page thread here is pretty telling of the FF interest in him

Plus- He is the only WR the Jets have. The Jets will be throwing a lot.

Minus- The Jets have nothing else including no QB.

Chicago already has 2 slot receivers. Didn't need him

Two games in is Kearse's performance a trend or mirage? I haven't seen any Jets games so can't say.

If the former he seems like a great asset to acquire that others might think they are selling high.

I was the only person in my 12 team dynasty that put in a BB waiver request on him. He'll ride the end of my bench for now but if he keeps getting targets he could be a nice #3.

He fell to me at 14th spot in week 1 claims in a deep dynasty. I had him ranked as my top pick. ?

Just watched highlights of last week. He looks good.

Added him before the first game because I had an extra spot on the bench. Will be starting him already after losing DJ and Woodhead.

I have so much trouble believing in this guy, particularly on this team. One week is an interesting performance, two weeks is a coincidence but if you want a breakout player cheap you need to buy now and hope week three makes it a fact.

And if he pays off I strongly encourage everyone to sell high because you have to imagine, if he's the only real offensive weapon on the Jets, defenses will start to focus on him and shut him down in the second half of the season.

McCown seems to like him and he's the only "professional" WR on the roster right now. He hasn't look flashy or anything but he runs solid routes and gets open and he's been McCown's first look.

The problem could be if Petty starts getting playing time as he had a connection with Robby Anderson last season. McCown will either get hurt or sent to the bench eventually.

Austin Sefarian-Jenkins comes back this week, giving the team another weapon. Personally I agree that Kearse's start is not sustainable but the offense has looked a little better than advertised.

Apparently, ASJ came back from his two week vacation out of shape.  Perhaps that newfound commitment was more of a training camp mirage.  There's going to be a lot of garbage time production in this offense.  I agree with the poster who said that as long as McCown is the starter, Kearse will get his.  That all changes when Petty takes over and starts winging it deep, at which point you'll see a bump for Anderson.

I'm not sure why people think ASJ will be an impact player. I guess he has the physical ability but it has never translated to anything on the field.

Jermaine Kearse has been diagnosed with a broken left leg and "assorted injuries to his ankle."

It's the worst possible news but not surprising after the way Kearse went down. The 29-year-old's 2019 is over. Kearse had been fighting for No. 4 duties in the Lions' run-first offense. The Lions have little of note behind Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola. Coming off a dismal 2018 where he averaged just 10.0 yards on 37 catches as a Jet, Kearse's NFL career is winding down. This injury could sadly force him out of the league.
