Jerricho is out, is it worth adding any Jet WR? (1 Viewer)

Jerricho is out, Does Brad Smith or Justin McCareins have much value?

I am in a deep dynasty league (30 roster spots and we start 3 or 4 WRs).

I am desperate for help at the WR spot. Does Brad Smith or Justin McCareins have any value this week or going forward? If so, which one is a better pickup?

Long term I believe Smith has much more upside.

Right now McCareins is the better NFL WR. If you need help this week, McCareins is the safe bet.

If you need to swing for the fences, take Brad Smith. The Jets need to see what he can do at some point, and this might be the week that they gameplan him in early to see what he brings to the table.

Might think this bumps up the value of the TE Baker. Also, is Baker returning kicks too? Saw he did in the Dallas game last week.

Smith is the guy Clemens has been targeting in the red zone, unsuccesfully (the few times they've been there). Without Cotchery in the lineup, Smith should get more involved in between the 20's as well.

That said, Miami pass D has actually been pretty solid this year if you can believe it.

I would say that Smith and McNeverfightsfortheball have no or very limited value in any consistent manner. If anyone benefits, it's probably Baker.
I have been following Smith all year because Coles is always injured and so I figured if Smith had the ability he might get a short just like this opportunity. But when he has had opportunities this year he has played small and dropped passes. I don't think his upside is very high and suspect the Jets will draft a WR this year. YOu have a large roster so maybe with 30 players you can justify making room for him and seeing how he does this week. But in leagues with smaller rosters I don't think he is worthy and he is still on waivers in our league (24 player rosters).

Smith until recently had been a pretty sure handed reciever. McCatiens has always had alligator arms with hands of melting ice. The guy I think could benefit this week is Leon Washington. I think you will see him in the slot and split wide for a fair number of snaps, especially if Coles is limited with that ankle injury.

 if you're in a PPR league he'd be a sneaky play - may not score any TDs except on returns, but should be good for a number of targets.

Well, Leon exceeded expectations, but I have to admit, I thought his points would come off receptions more than carries, which is how it turned out. I think he will be a good flex play against Cleveland too.

:sadbanana: Nice call.
