I caught this last night and dismissed it, as in not a big deal. As the big day looms, it's just another tid bit.

Maybe it's worthy of a last minute bet prop bet?

This probably sifts out as a non-factor as the temperatures warm above freezing on Saturday. I suspect crews will be able to de-ice the roof-top. The forcast for Sunday game time is temps about 38-39 degrees with 40% chance of rain-snow mix.

Wouldn't want to be the Architect on Cowboy Stadium.

If it's one thing I've learned here over the last several years is these Weather Guys try and make predictions that will grab your attention. A shock and awe type attiude or they try and get the first forecast out there to say they were first. This type of weather forecasting has really turned me off as I believe there's a certain responsibility to give it your best shot at predicting the weather and not focused on "what can I say to stir things up" mentality.

We just had a storm here in Detroit that several days before was labeled Snowmegeddon etc..., that we were going to get 16 plus inches and we ended up with 8. The night before we wre supposed to get Round 1 of a 2 day storm and get 2 to 4 inches and we got a dusting, and that's being kind. I'd say not even a 1/4 inch. They say whatever they want and have excuses.

Weather is not easy to predict, I get that. But I also get that when people say there's going to be a storm that is going to dump 16 inches, it's going to have an effect on other people. People went out nad purchased a ton of groceries to "hunker down", there were gas stations that actually ran out of gas, local road crews changed all of the blades and serviced the underbelly's of all the salt trucks etc...local hospitals actually had their staff sleep over night, get paid time and a half with meals included to make sure they had proper staff inside the hospital. The list goes on and on of how much money is spent when you come out with these forecasts. If you don't know what the forecast is going to be, act like you don't know what it will be.

So here's my prediction. I predict there will be absolutely no problem with the weather in Dallas this weekend. I predict at most there's a minor inconvienance that will be solved and go unnoticed.

There are thousands of meteorologists that are only wrong maybe once a year that predict the weather for the shipping industry. Picture a billionaire sending a billion dollar ship loaded with product and ...you start to understand how important it is that the prediction is correct and how they'd fire and/or sue the guy if he was wrong.

Dallas doesn't get the cold weather and snow storms often. "It's a different world there"

I heard it was 6, Mother must have made the extra point.

What does this have to do with the snow that fell in Dallas? :bs:

Dallas doesn't get the cold weather and snow storms often. "It's a different world there"
In a typical winter DFW gets a couple of snow "storms" that are an inch or two and are totally melted two days after the first flake. The temperature is rarely drops below 20 degrees in any single day for a given year much less 4 days in a row like this week. . This week was pretty atypical as the average high temp is around 58-60 degrees. Last week where you had a couple of random days in the 70s is more "normal." Dallas has winter weather here and there, but cold is not a lifestyle like in many northern cities. And seriously, on the shipping industry post, "thousands who are wrong no more than once a year" :goodposting:

Probably not much different than Atlanta weather, but after the 2000 ice storm, the Superbowl hasn't returned to Georgia.

This is pretty accuarate as I have lived in both places. A little cooler and more hunid in Atlanta but really very close in total climate.

I guess weather reporters, disguised as sports reporters and news reporters, decided to "stir things up" by reporting that ice fell from the stadium and injured 6 or 7 people. Either that, or "nothing".

Ice hazard shuts four of 10 entrances to stadium
Two days after falling ice sent several to a local hospital, the remaining hazard on the roof of Cowboys Stadium has compelled the closure of four of 10 entrances to the cavernous venue, according to the Associated Press.
