sad that i have to rely on this guy so early in the season, but has anyone heard anything concrete about his injury? last i heard he was going to possibly miss week 1 because of lack of practice time. any news on this bum?

Jerry Porter (hamstring) returned to a full practice Monday, but Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio was non-committal when asked Porter's status for Week 1.

"When we think he’s ready, we’ll get him on the active 45," Del Rio said.

do a search on our news blogger.....Del Rio had previously stated that it would be a 2-week period between first practice and playing in a game. If that holds true, he is out for week 1 and maybe week 2.

Jags homer. Local Jags radio station stated Porter was "this" close to being on the PUP, but JDR hoped/figured he'd be back in in a few weeks. Jags are not looking for Porter week 1 or week 2.

thank you very much for this. p.s. the news blog posts nothing that i can't read myself on the net. i had read the whole "needs two weeks of practice" but sometimes things change when it gets closer to go-time, and that was first broken a week or two ago. the post from the jacksonville local is more of what i was looking for. thanks anyway.

i expect him to be ready week 2 at the earliest. even then i would temper my expectations for him because he's had very little time to work with garrad and the rest of the offense.
